What a great place to grab a bite! Got here abt 130pm and just missed lunch rush. Was greeted and seated promptly. The server, Angie, was right on point with a menu and took my drink order (unsweet iced tea for me...YES...I KNOW...SACRILEGE for not getting sweet tea in the Mississippi Delta, but I ain't from these parts)! Out came the tea (Styrofoam cup with ice, lid and straw) and Angie took my order. I had to try the namesake Zip Burger (complete with Zip sauce), but couldn't decide between hand cut, lightly battered onion rings or skin on lightly battered fries. ANGIE TO THE RESCUE! Viola..they offer a 1/2 and 1/2 side order so I wouldn't have to sacrifice (the burger is ala carte...you know...a solo performer, so sides are extra charge). Astonishingly quick...seriously...the burger, O-rings and fries are out lickity-split. The handmade beef patty was tender, juicy and tasty! It was prepared with Zip sauce, tomatoes and lettuce all sandwiched between a nice, soft bun. As awesome as the burger patty was, you want to eat it slow and savor it, but you're gonna risk the integrity of the bun from the juices and sauce. I pretty much wolfed mine down. The onion rings were perfect for me. Very lightly battered yet crispy with wide slices of tender onion. You taste the onion instead of a bunch of batter or breading. Likewise, the skin on fries were also lightly battered, to the point it just added an extra crisp (you could get fries in various styles..you don't have to have them battered). I even got an extra side of Zip sauce to dip the O-rings/fries in. The tea was cold, fresh tasting and regularly refilled. Attention from Angie needed no extra prompting...she was pretty awesome. They had other burgers and diner items on the menu (chopped, smothered steak - catfish - pork chops), that I'll have to try next time I come by (which hopefully will be sooner than later). I don't think you can go wrong...
Read moreGood. Grief. This place is probably one of the worst places we've ever been in. If I could give zero or half stars - this would definitely earn it.
The looks of this place are very deceiving. One would hope that it would be great since they make their burgers in house, but oooh no.
An older woman sitting with her back to the door hollered for us to sit wherever we wanted. Ooookay. Didn't want to interrupt her scrolling through her phone.
We get settled in at a tiny table. I requested a highchair for our two year-old, and you could scrape the grime off it. Absolutely disgusting.
Inquired about some things on the menu and placed our order with our bubbly waitress. The waitress asked if we'd like some crackers and zip sauce to snack on while we wait. Sure.... Their "zip sauce" is ketchup and mayo. Oh - how original....
We waited for an HOUR for our food, and when it finally came to the table - it was COLD. Oh my heavens. I sent my order of fries back, and I swear they just microwaved them. My husband sent his 1/2 fried pickles and 1/2 chilli-cheese fries back because THEY WERE COLD TOO! My burger was missing some things, was lukewarm and was dry as all get out. My husband's burger was also lukewarm but was super greasy. Our daughter's fries were cold, but she could've cared less.
The whole time we were there, our waitress checked on us once. Oh. And when we inquired about their desserts, our waitress said, "we don't have any anymore."
( -.- Yall need to change your menu.)
When I went to pay, I told the woman that had hollered at us when we first walked in that the majority of our food was cold when we received it, she never batted an eye and said, "Do you want your receipt?" Really?! No apology. No offer to make it right. Nothing. Wasted $60 on nasty, cold food.
They're overrated and overpriced. Save your money and...
Read moreMy husband and I were on the road and placed an order of fried pickles. They stated it would be 10-15 minutes. We arrived 15 minutes later and waited for around that same length of time to receive our order. In the meantime, there was an order that sat on the table that was just like I ordered.....no one ever picked it up. Our name was called out about 1 minute after we arrived and the waitress said it wasn't for us. She told me to go ahead and pay for the order then....and I did. When we got back on the road and started to eat we almost chocked on the amount of SALT, SALT, SALT that had been dumped on the pickles. At this point, we kept driving. Never will be EVER return to this JOINT. It once was a good place....something has happened or it has been bought by someone else. Terrible! BAD FOOD AND...
