I'm writing this at 8:14, 15 minutes after I got my food and right after I arrived back at my sister in law's house where we are celebrating my kid's birthday.
But I need to write a review for food I ordered a 6:28, was told was ready at 7:14 and wasn't ready until 8:00 almost on the nose.
When I arrived at 7:14 and told the lady at the counter who I was she said, "Oh, you're the one with the long order." I said, I don't think so, there's only six of us. She confirmed that THAT was the long order and that she had tried to call us to tell us it'd be an hour.
There's no record on our phones of any such call.
She told me then, at 7:14, when the app said it was ready, that they hadn't started the order yet. So it was going to be another half an hour.
Some context: There were two other groups, one with five people, one with two. The half hour total I was there I saw four togo orders come and go. The parking lot, which is very small, was half full.
Right after that she took some guy's order. You know where this is going, right? He asked about some item and she said it'd be an hour so he didn't order it. So, clearly, something was slow.
Fine. He left. Then I left and came back half an hour later. And sat there for another ten minutes. That's when the guy who ordered AFTER I told her about my order, came and picked up HIS pizza. He ordered his food forty five minutes after me and got it fine minutes before me.
Finally, literally 92 minutes after I placed my order, my food came. "Thanks, have a nice day." Is what she said to me.
I said, "I'll try, it's my kid's birthday and I'll try to catch up with her."
No apology at any point. No admission of error of any kind. Just a call she says she placed but there's no evidence on my end of and 92 minutes of waiting for a "long order" for six people.
The place is cute if very small. So decent atmosphere. The food was good.
I'm genuinely curious what the owner will have to say, if anything. I have receipts on all of this aside from the spoken words...
Read moreWe were in Maggie Valley for a week, and seemed always to be traveling around the area and missing this gem. It was on my list and our last night( really late afternoon) in town we made it happen, and are so happy we did. Our server, (I think she said her name is Melissa, but I have to admit to being in a food coma when we asked her name), was so kind and accommodating, and while there we met the owner/chef who came out to ask if all was well. He was also so very nice! Now, the food: AMAZING!!! We were torn between pizza and pasta, so we got both and split it. We had the Angel hair and meat sauce and the margarita pizza. The pasta came with soup or salad and garlic knots. Bread and salad were great. Then Melissa brought out the prettiest pizza, and while we were oohing and aahing over it she brought not one, but two huge bowls of pasta! I tasted the Angel hair first and was transported to Heaven! Oh my goodness, this stuff was delicious! Perfect temperature, consistency and AMAZING taste! Then I tasted the pizza, and again, wondered where this place had been all my life! (We had had a slice at another place in Waynesville a few days before that was unfortunately overwhelmed with cheese, so much so that we had to scrape off the majority in order to actually taste the crust.). This was as it should be, fresh dots of mozz, basil added after the fire, room to sprinkle on a bit of parm.....FABULOUS!!!! A cold Stella complimented the meal, and we took home so much, we'll be eating for two more meals. All served in a small, quaint spot with great music playing softly in the background. If you're ever in the area, make your way as quickly as possible to this wonderful oasis of Italian goodness! You won't be disappointed! Thank you, Bizzarro!!! The next visit anywhere near Maggie Valley, you will...
Read moreWe are from Camden SC, visiting the area. On Sunday 06/04/23 we ordered 2 pizzas to be delivered to the Pride Resort. Upon our Pizzas being delivered by the door dash person, we opened the boxes and saw that the pizzas must have been delivered resting in a vertical position as half of the toppings had migrated to the other side of the box. Since it’s an improbable possibility that the cheese and all the other toppings moved enmasse on their own the basic assumption was that the pizza was stored incorrectly for delivery. After sending the wayward toppings back to their original positions we found that the pizzas were at best Luke warm and the crust on one of the pizzas was so burnt that it couldn’t be eaten. We did however survive by eating the toppings which were very good. We were seriously disappointed by the pizza. We made contact with slightly slice (who handles the complaints) where we explained the situation, and we were refunded a portion of the cost of the pizzas. If the pizzas had been transported properly, were better than Luke warm and not frizzled like they were they probably would have been very good. I believe that the situation could have been handled better. I hate giving a business low reviews but this situation warranted this low review. Where I work I am a service writer in the power sports industry and I work for a large company. If something is not done properly I have the authority to make it right. One way or another. A business must ask themselves if a short cut in customer satisfaction is worth the low reviews that can happen. I would recommend eating there but not trusting take out. I have pictures but can...
