My husband and I arrived at Toms place and went to the store to check in. There was a gentleman standing in front of us that was very upset because no one had acknowledged him. I didn’t really think anything of it until it was our turn to check in. I Presented my credit card and ask the gentleman if he needed to see my ID. He went on to say no I do not need to see your ID even if it’s stolen we still get our money. OK I thought that’s not good. When making our reservation I told them that I needed a two bedroom because I was claustrophobic after getting the keys and going to our room we walked into what was a small closet with two single beds. They had a little tiny unit that we thought was supposed to be an air conditioning which did not work so we checked the windows to see if we could open them at least and get a Crossbreeze there were no screens on any of the windows. So my husband and I decided to go back and ask them if they had a bigger room that could accommodate us. We were given keys and we went to the second room and it was on a slope and once again there were no screens on the window it was really really hot. So we return to where we pick up the keys and I politely told the lady that unfortunately the rooms would not work for us. She immediately gave me attitude was very rude and disrespectful told me never to return there again that they have nothing for me. Considering I am in customer service I was very distraught on how this woman treated me. My husband and I were very excited about the trip we will never ever return to Tom’s Place and neither will any of our friends, this place was very...

They are overdue for new ownership. I used to come all the time since I was a kid but now I refuse to visit due to the older folks that work here and constantly give an attitude towards their customers. Especially towards any that appear to be campers or any that appear to be on the younger side.

Anytime my dad would talk to these folks, they were always extra friendly but teenage and adult me always got cold hearted responses when I would try and make small talk. (And wouldn’t even be busy!). They constantly have an attitude towards any camper that asks about showers or other amenities they don’t offer…. Believe it or not you can say no to without being rude!

The final straw was when I visited to sit down and eat at their restaurant. Paid for my food, bought some goodies in the store and was getting ready to leave. I saw I had a shopping bag with some trash and wrappers I forgot to throw away.

I threw it away in their dumpster which at the time had no signs or anything saying it was off limits so I went to through it away. This older dude who was probably the owner came out from the building on the property screaming at me and cussing me out and specifically remember him saying “this is not a campground”!!!

These people have a grudge against younger people and against campers / tourists. Don’t stop here if you can, you’re better off driving into town.

The food is way better too. Can’t wait for this place to come under new ownership. Give it...

Not high end. Limited Country Store and tackle shop. Cabins are comfortable and clean. No house keeping service. No TV or WiFi. Cafe has great reviews. Kitchen area in our cabin was full size with a huge refrigerator and plenty utensils. Beautiful location. I am no expert on the ADA (American Disabilitues Act) but am familiar with the law and dealt with I t in several organizations that I am a member. This place is not compliant with the ADA but is grandfathered due to the age of this facility. Should wish to stay here the current owner will work with you and provide all the assistance that can provided within the facilities resources. Some cabins are definitely not for the mobility impaired. As said, great location, owner manager and most staff is friendly, open to conversation when not busy. Four stars for distance to many fishing locations and rustic...

The kind of restaurant and bar heavily touristed yet locally equally admired. Lunch wings done crispy and as good as they get, in addition to many other quality diner style dishes; sans soups and other leavings for the fancy city slickers! Don’t know about the resort aspect or rooms but the horse-shoe bar looked great for snow days or summer nights. Grocery store side seemed handy, though very limited product supply in late winter season. Great stop with the good old of things being done and kept right. Nice to see and be a part of this ethic in an awesome landscape.

This is a must stop on your way down the 395. Whether you are fishing or paddling at Crowley Lake, live in the area (lucky you), or are just driving by and are hungry never don’t stop here! This place has earned that right, surviving two pandemics, they must have it figured out. The place was clean, bathrooms included. The staff was very friendly and scenery while dining was very interesting and a good conversation starter. Oh, you want to know about the food, ok. So the prices are good and the food better. I’d definitely come back.
