My family and I had just landed in San Juan on a red-eye flight from Oregon. We loaded everyone and everything up in a rental car and started heading for the west-coast. After twenty minutes our three-year-old was passed out and my husband and I were trading yawns back and forth. We knew we needed a kick in the tail so as to not end up as mid-day roadkill on the 2, threw a dart at google maps, and hit the freaking jackpot.
This place grows, roasts, grinds, and brews their own beans, and you can taste the difference. This coffee has character. It’s nothing like the somehow simultaneously burnt and bland big-name brands.
Five minutes after the first sip we were motoring westward and crafting this review with our eyes wide open, but not bugged out. We’ll remember Mitaza....
