The Iron Skillet — Restaurant in Mancelona Township

The staff was kind of rude. We came in with a big group and asked if we could move some tables together. They kept saying they couldn't move tables but they could push together some 2 tops...we didn't understand and a gentlemen with glasses got rude. He ended up adding a 2 top to a larger table, which is what we requested to begin with, but I guess we weren't asking with the right words. Instead of just saying "I'll get that squared away real quick, give me a second and I'll have a table ready" he just responded to our request with "yeah, no, we aren't moving tables together. No we aren't doing that" and then ended up doing it anyway. It was really weird and made all of us uncomfortable. Thankfully he wasn't waiting on us, so we didn't have to deal with his attitude again during our meal.

Aside from that the food was good. Typical dinner food. The portions are a good size and it came out hot. The chairs are terribly uncomfortable so be mindful of that if you have a bad back or wide bum. I'm not overweight by any means but I do have some junk in the trunk and those seats do NOT accommodate that. When you sit in them you will know exactly what I mean.

EDIT: apparently they are crediting us for this instance which I appreciate. But for future orders maybe just take the order and put it in when you need to for said pick up time. Our subway lunch just didn't hit the spot today. :(

In the past I hadn't had any issues here. Food is good prices are good.

Today I called at 11:40am to place a pick up order for 1pm thinking we are planning ahead. The lady was rude on the phone, she had attitude in her voice. She told me i can not place my order this early and to call back at 12:30pm.

Ok, sure, whatever.

I call back at 12:30pm to place my order and sat on hold for 15 minutes before talking to anyone. Finally give my order for 4 meals to the lady and ask how long it would be, she said 'oh thats a 45 min wait.' I said ya thats not going to work, we take lunch at 1pm and get an hr lunch. So I guess delete our order, this is why I tried calling it in at 11:40 but you guys told me to call it in at 12:30....

I dont understand this one bit. Why could you not take the order and put it back to the cook when you needed too. Or even offer to take the order but let us know it may be...

I came here for the first time on a Friday at 9am. The food was very good but the tall waitress with the dark hair and the big mouth ruined our visit. She was a decent waitress but she but she loves to say mean things about the customers behind their backs. I was there for 5 minutes and she was complaining to the other young waitress about the customers who had just left being too messy which really wasn't true . Later on, I overheard her telling someone in the kitchen that I ordered way too much food but the carry out order was for my poor dad who is bedridden for the rest of his life. Another time I heard her make another mean comment about me but I pretended like I didn't hear it. This is the same big mouth small brain waitress that others have complained about in their reviews but obviously the owner hasn't addressed the problem. This was the first and last time that I go there because a waitress should not be talking smack about the customers. I observed that the other waitress who is young and has blonde hair acted very professional and was not saying mean things like the other...
