I came to this venue with family hoping for a fun, memorable experience. However, we came away highly disappointed in the staff, the food, and the venue itself. First of all, this was a pretty ruddy looking cabin for a âMaine Cabin Mastersâ establishment. Love the show, but this place made me highly question their craftsmanship. On a more important note, we had some bad experience with the food quality and the seating. It was a very busy, rainy Saturday when we arrived, and indoor seating was very dicey. When I went in to find seating for a party of eight, there were four individuals seated at the only large table inside the establishment, and they were unwilling to switch seats for a smaller table so that my larger family could have room. Understandable. With 8 adults, including 2 grandparents with mobility issues, this was going to be uncomfortable. So I packed 4 extra seats on to a 4 seater table to make as much room as I could. We waited 20 minutes for our food at our very cramped table, and the food was the worst that Iâve ever had while traveling to Maine. I am confident that I could have cooked a better meal in a dorm room microwave. When the four people at the large table were heading out, they chatted with us and explained that they were related to the owners. They also stated that our very obviously cramped table was actually âbetter offâ for us because we could see more wall hangings from where we were seated. What? This made me even more deeply disappointed in the establishment. The ownersâ family hogged the largest indoor table at a crowded restaurant on a rainy Saturday, and they refused to switch tables to make room for a party of 8 guests, even when kindly asked. Thatâs extremely sad....
Read moreWOW!!! This place is absolutely INCREDIBLE! I can't believe it's taken me so long to find and try it out! Talk about the absolute PERFECT atmosphere. Feels like chillin' in your very own (kickass) backyard, but with a stage or two, live music, catering (it's a restaurant lol), corn hole, outdoor eating, etc! Kid friendly, they can bring soccer balls, footballs, nice little field area for them to play in while the adults relax, eat and converse; all gated in so you feel that they're safe not running into the parking lot; smoking area outside the gate for those who partake, the COOLEST lil between 2 trees bar for people to stand and drink at, mass seating at picnic tables, a tented area for those who want to be out of the sun, PLENTY of adequate parking, handicapped spaces right out front. I seriously CANNOT say enough wonderful things about this place!! Oh yeah!!! And the FOOD?! WHAT?!?!! đ¤¤đ¤¤ JUST DEEEELICIOUS!!!! I ordered the Steak Poutine, a Bacon Cheeseburger Royale, and a couple Christmas Hotdogs (what my family calls red hotdogs đ), all of it was IMPECCABLE but that Steak Poutine?! Oh my GAWWWD!! I have found my next food streak I'm afraid hahaa! I'm sure I'll be ordering it a LOT now. Has a bit of a kick to it consisting of shaved steak, red & green peppers, fries, cheese (pretty sure), the BESTTTTT brown gravy I've EVER tasted! Funny when I ordered it, I had no idea it was award winning!! Soon as I tasted it I knew why! Go GET you some ASAP!!! I'd love to spend every weekend here with a huge group of family and friends. It's a WHOLE vibe!! Thanks to The Woodshed and it's amazing crew and owners for making a real winner of a...
Read moreTâwas a drizzly Saturday when we made our trek to gaze upon the glory of the Maine Cabin Mastersâ abode to feast among fellow connoisseurs of the tv show and of fine pub food. When you go on vacation, you only get so many days to taste the local cuisine so you want to make the most of it. This was a complete waste of one of those precious few dining opportunities. We came upon the ransacked looking shack and were aghast at the state of the structure. Could people capable of building such magnificent structures, stalwart in magnitude, cook out of such a lowly looking establishment? Crude construction is definitely an understatement and the chairs kept getting stuck in the ruts that werenât already filled in with food residue. The folks there seemed to be less than pleasant and claimed to be related to the guys in the show, though Iâm sure the cabin masters would be embarrassed if they knew how their family was and what was going on here whilst theyâre out in the frontier erecting fine dwellings and taming the wilderness.
We got the burger, nachos, and chicken sandwich and the only positive thing I can say is the nachos were a generous portion though flavor was very average at best. The burger left much to be desired and I could do just as good on a George Forman. The chicken sandwich was on par with Tysonâs Dino nugget quality and it cost an arm and a leg for all of it! Needless to say, next time we make the extensive trek towards the region of Maine in which this restaurant dwells, we shall carry on in search for...
