Came in for lunch with my daughter who was being picky. The cashier was very nice and accommodating. She was new and made a mistake and sold us a side of cheese fries which apparently only come in the more expensive appetizer version. After paying and starting to go to sit down, Stephanie caught the mistake and explained they don’t sell sides of cheese fries, only fries. I made the point well, it wouldn’t be hard to just add cheese to a smaller size in this case where we were sold a smaller fry size mistakenly. Stephanie said that was physically impossible to add cheese. I asked her if the fries come premade because it’s obviously physically possible to add cheese to fries. Stephanie attempted to explain how cheese needed to go on appetizer sized fries only because it wasn’t possible. I said the only reason it wasn’t possible was because of the cost and it was an attempt to upcharge which I understand but after the mistake I was hoping they’d just add some cheese and make it easier on everyone. I guess it wasn’t.
I basically said it wasn’t worth the up charge for that because it was for my kid and really I just needed a smaller fry. It was at this point I said never mind and just take the fry off and give me the other food I ordered. During this, my child who is 8, made a comment when Stephanie said I wasn’t understanding and said yes he does understand in a rather stern way to Stephanie. While my daughter was out of line, Stephanie proceeded to glare at my child in an attempt to intimidate her and then glared at me. And said with such a rude child she was going to just refund my money and we could leave.
I told Stephanie she was out of line and if she had any comments about my child’s behavior she was going to direct them to me, not her. I then told her I paid for the meal I wanted and asked to be served.
Food was fine....
Read moreI'm so disappointed. We love to support local restaurants and the way I was just treated at the Madisonville location was appalling. We are frequent diners of this establishment and since it opened any time we had family and friends in town, this restaurant was on our list.
My wife mistakenly placed our order at the Mandeville location which I didn't discover until I arrived to pick up the order on Friday, November 11th, at around 4pm. Anyone who lives here knows the traffic from Madisonville to Mandeville is atrocious, especially at this time of day.
I was told by who I'm assuming is the owner that my food was ready in Mandeville. I said there was no way I was driving to Mandeville. The food would have been cold and the trip would have taken an hour.
I tried to re-order at the Madisonville location and was told, "your food is ready in Mandeville, what do you expect me to do, throw it away?" I said look, my wife made a mistake, I'm sorry, but I'm not driving to Mandeville. That's ridiculous. I can just order from somewhere else. He said, "That's fine".
I then called my wife who had already called the Mandeville location and was told that they HADN'T prepared the order yet and canceled it.
I'm so sorry that we inconvenienced Triple Nickel and that my money is no good there. We won't be returning and it's unfortunate. Just be aware of level of customer service you may receive. Lesson learned for us. Oh, and don't let the wife place orders anymore. I miss Crabby Shack.
This is the first time I've ever been turned away from an establishment. I try to make it a point to only leave positive reviews as there is so much negativity in the world, but I had to share my experience on this one. Instead of losing an order but still getting my business, they lost the order and...
Read moreThe Triple Nickel Grill is the go to restaurant for my family when we can't decide where to go for dinner. They have burgers, fried seafood and huge salads. Prices for a meal range from around $9 to $15, plus another $2 for a drink with free refills. The place is decorated with lots of sports memorabilia and photographs. One area is full of LSU items while another is dedicated to photos of local school and playground teams. If you'e looking for a salad, try the grilled shrimp salad. Can't go wrong with any of their burgers and fries. The catfish and shrimp baskets are another good choice. Being the closest restaurant to the popular Pelican Park, this place can get pretty busy and noisy on the weekends. Being in a retail strip, parking can also be pretty limited during peak...
