Visited this place last night with my gf. Upon arrival the restaurant was very esthetically pleasing to the eye. The seating was free range sit anywhere you like not seated by a host. Upon sitting down we waited a few minutes to be served. We observed the waitress cleaning off tables and running checks even though there was no demand for seating. When the waitress arrived at our table she was not very engaging with us. She did not introduce herself or make and effort to tell us about the restaurant or the menu. We started off with the street corn dip which was decent but the chips lacked any seasoning. After we place orders for our entrees. I ordered the smothered chicken which came with peppers onions and chees over top of two small chicken breasts with sides of house fries and roasted green beans My gf ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta. Upon arrival the cheese had already cooled on my chicken retaking its circular shape from when it was put on. The green beans were hardly roasted, kind of just rolled around in some olive oil and barely touched a hot pan. Honestly the fries were the only hot and good thing on my plate. My gf pasta arrived barely warm without ANY seasoning to speak of. It honestly tasted like they opened up a jar of plain Ragu alfredo sauce, put it on top of some warm noodles and tossed shrimp on top. The garlic bread looked and tasted like it was pulled out frozen in a box just sitting there. We paid $16 each for our entrees and what received was very unsatisfying and disappointing. I could make it at home for pennies on the dollar and make it more appetizing then what we were served. Towards the end of our meal we heard the waitress tell another couple that "her shift was over and if they needed anything to just order at the bar" NEVER in my life have I seen a restaurant allow the ONLY waitress to leave while there were still customers seated. Final assessment: Venue 4/5. Service 2/5. Food 1/5. Price 1/5. Overall 1/5. We will not be visiting again. Rockin K's not rockin anything special, steer clear of this place if you...
Read moreI virtually never write a review of anywhere/anything, but after our experience today, it's difficult to not respond in some way. To accurately set the stage, they were pretty busy when we arrived for brunch at approximately 11:15. After waiting 20+ minutes (which we had NO problem with and fully understood), we were seated. People kept arriving, waited in line, and were seated as tables became available. We placed our order and began to wait. And we waited, and waited, and waited. 30 minutes after placing our order, our waitress returned, refilled our water glasses, and stated our food should be out soon. Again, we waited, and waited, and waited. Our waitress never returned to update us on the status of our order, refill our glasses....nothing. We began to look around after another 25-30 minutes and saw table after table after table after table of people eating that we KNEW were seated after us. We waited another 10 minutes. My lady went to inquire if perhaps our order had gotten lost. She was told they would check and let us know. We waited another 10 minutes, watched as plate after plate was brought from the kitchen and delivered to a table and NO ONE came to update us on our orders. After considerably more than an hour and 40 minutes, we got up and left. Never again. We tried to give them our business and support them, but this is not the service anyone should expect nor any way to run a business. We eat out often, but Rockin' K's will NOT receive any business from us nor will we be recommending them to ANYONE. If fact, we'll do the opposite. If possible, they would...
Read moreUnfortunately this experience was not great for my party of 7. This was my first time to Rockin K's and I brought my extended family who can up for the holiday. I was so excited to show them the Kansas Charm however the food was less than charming. The hostess was great and very kind. I am sad to say the the Cajun Shrimp pasta tastes like it had sat in a dirty refrigerator and you can tell that the pasta wasn't fresh as it was slightly dried out with sauce mixed in. We sent back the turkey burger that was ordered for another family member because it tastes like it was grilled and a beef sauce and was extremely greasing and tasted tainted a little chemically. The utensils were dirty with food to bring that was dried and hard to scrape off. The drinks were subpar, we ordered strawberry lemonade which was more water than lemonade. The chicken tenders for the youngest member where fried super hard and the kiddo did not eat them which is his go to food. The best part of our meal was the fries the lettuce and the tomatoes that came on the side. I have to admit that when selecting this restaurant my expectations were probably too high based on other reviews and recommendations from associates. It would appear that they have the potential to be a really great spot for this area however the food is...
