The Dugout Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Manitowoc

The pros: The food wasn't too bad for the price.

The cons: The parking lot is too small. The building seems smaller. They are understaffed (like everywhere in the country) and it showed.

Extra: Although i saw the pictures online, I was surprised that it was a bar instead of just a restaurant.

There is a place in Appleton, WI called JD's that has similar prices and food but is just a restaurant.

As such, they have a larger eating area but people are lined up through the drive through every day they are open.

I have a feeling it's too late to change and the change may not matter at this point but it seemed like people were enjoying the company of each other and the food over the bar itself.

There was clearly zero problem packing the place, it's just not for me.

It has been sometime since we have been to the Dugout for food. I ordered a steak sandwich medium rare and got it well done. I had to send it back to be redone. Also not enough butter was on the sandwich. I could not taste mustard.

My wife an my daughter ordered Perch dinner. The perch was under done. It was discussing. Usually the perch is great and use good fresh ingredients. The perch was fresh but under done.

The Chili and the Sausage soup tasted like it was watered-down. This was very disappointing. When we had it before it was very good.

The French fries were great as usual.

I am not sure whether the night was a fluke or if this is a trend. We will try it again and see if the food has gone to disappointing.

This was the first time that I went into this establishment. I was met with a hardy hello, and what can we get you? So refreshing to have such a friendly greeting. I told her I was new to the area and it's the first time I was here. She said welcome! let me get you some menus and what will you be drinking? In no time at all, there it was. Hot and oh so good. Great job to all staff and Cooks. The restaurant as a whole was clean neat and tidy just as the restrooms were as well. Awesome...
