I’ve eaten here with family and on date nights and each time I’m surprised at the care taken, both with food and the table side manner.
I see this place as a diamond in the rough. It seems relatively new as I’ve seen changes just in the few visits over the past few months… for instance a new patio with outdoor tables and a revised (and expansive) menu (most recently updated in May of 2025). As an example of the rough, the website is in need of some attention and their receipts don’t yet have a tip line if you pay with a credit card.
The owners work in the restaurant and obviously love both service and food. I’ve been in restaurants where the cook does not eat their own food, and that is obviously not the case here - the flavors are great and portions are strong. Whoever is cooking, definitely has a passion to make delicious things. And, the hired help has all been personable and present.
Most of the dishes I’ve tried have wow’d me. Most recently I was stunned by the flavor and portions of a to-go order of a pork chop with an added side salad. I’m usually a little surprised by the pricing (I would expect it to be higher for most of the servings).
The atmosphere is pleasant with an eclectic collection of chairs. You can sit at one of the 10 indoor tables along a bar/counter at the bay windows facing a wonderfully serene river view and watch birds feed or the local wildlife swimming past. One evening we watched a young but hopeful cat hide in the grasses hoping for their own chance at a meal.
Overall, I think you’ll be pleased and I’m excited to see how it matures… I believe eventually they’ll know their value and the prices will climb, but I’m excited to support the small (for-now) cafe with big...

If you’re anywhere near Mantua, Ohio, Main Street on the River is an absolute must-visit! From the moment we walked in, the entire staff made us feel like family. The employees were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and just overall amazing people—you can tell they genuinely care about creating a great experience for their guests.
Now, let’s talk about the food. The pizza? Next level. The perfect balance of crispy crust, gooey cheese, and mouthwatering toppings—it’s the kind of pizza you dream about. The burgers? Absolutely insane. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, these burgers will have you questioning every other burger you’ve ever had. And let’s not forget the onion rings and crinkle fries—both were golden, crispy, and ridiculously addictive.
Beyond the food, the whole vibe of this place is just cool. You can feel the heart and soul that went into it, and it’s one of those rare spots where great food meets great people. Seriously, if you haven’t been here yet, go now. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

Read moreWe came in with a party of 10, and had reservations plenty of days in advance. I was disappointed that the first two items we were going to order they didn't have, but found something else to suffice. We had a lot of issues with service, but we rolled with it and just laughed it off. The chef came out and apologized about the issues with inventory due to pricing, but he started getting quite snippy with us when we were questioning things. As a business owner, you shouldn't get an attitude with your customers, no matter how irritated you are, and you certainly should not bad mouth your customer's review (which his response is now deleted). A lot of our group works in customer service oriented fields and understand that issues happen, but the attitude was not needed. As an owner, you should be accepting of criticism and use it to better your restaurant quality and service. We really appreciated the woman owner who came out to chat with us in the parking lot after we all finished. She really seemed to care about the restaurant and definitely wore her heart on her sleeve. She was open to listening and we really appreciated how she...
