Ming Home — Restaurant in Maple Heights

I have been coming here for over 5 years. This was the first Chinese restaurant I visited when I first moved nearby and I was glad to see they had general tso’s tofu. They accommodate my request to make it vegetarian with white rice and veggie egg rolls. The cashier always smiles when I come in and she recognizes my order. I’ve only had one time the food was wrong (made with meat) and they quickly made it over without any issue. It’s the best general tso’s tofu in the area - I have tried others but none have the same texture or sauce. I’ve had one time the egg roll was very oily, but that’s not usually the case, they’re usually very good. The prices also stay reasonable. Even if they are busy, I’ve never had to wait long after the time they committed when I do takeout ordering online (15 minutes from when I put the order in).

Keep in mind that during the pandemic they may have had challenges like every other restaurant, but I am glad they’re still standing. I have moved from my previous neighborhood but I still make the drive to get their food before I will go to any...

I ordered the general tso's chicken friend rice egg roll combo and hot and sour soup.

Very disappointed.

The chicken was extremely dry, stringy, and pretty much inedible. It tasted like someone fried old chicken to the point of making a new state of matter.

The taste of the sauce was mediocre at best.

The rice was soggy and looked like if you steam rice that was already fried. It was the only truly edible item I got though.

The eggroll was really soggy and had almost nothin in it. Very greasy.

The hot and sour soup was really bizarre, the veggies were uncooked, and there were whole mushrooms just floating at the top of the soap. I've never heard or seen of hot and sour soup like this.

I ordered the "extra spicy" and there was 0 spice.

It tasted like gelatinous chicken broth with undercooked veggies.

There was also a short black hair in my soup. I have really long lighter brown hair btw.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! We usually do Double Dragon in Oakwood Village but they were closed. Chose this one because of location - WORST. MISTAKE. EVER!! General Tso's chicken was dark and rubbery under the breading. Vegetables in the vegetable lo mein were dark and mushy, not crisp and green. Shrimp egg rolls were void of shrimp and fried way too hard, and the worst was the shrimp fried rice - the shrimp weren't even whole!! for every whole shrimp there were several shrimp pieces like they cut them up to make more. The sauce on the chicken was thick and flavorless and the broccoli was soggy. WHO DOES FOOD LIKE THIS AND SELL IT? Oh, maybe since u r located in a predominately black area you feel you're okay serving garbage to your customers. You got me this time but...
