Wow, I don't really know what to say about this McDonald's. I've been here quite a few times, and lately I've been less than impressed. A couple weeks ago, I went through the drive-through for breakfast and was given the wrong food, but I didn't have time to get it fixed (soccer game), so I just dealt with it. Unfortunately, what I received was one of those Biscuit-based sandwiches and the biscuit was hard as a rock...so bad service AND bad/wrong food at the same time.
This is not what I'm writing in about, though.
This morning, I went to this McDonald's again to grab some breakfast before heading to my soccer game. The line in the drive-through was pretty long, so I decided to head into the restaurant. I placed my order, then a large group of college-age people came in and placed their orders (maybe 8 minutes after I placed my order). The guy ahead of me received his food and it was wrong, so he had to send it back for another try, then the group of college kids began receiving their orders while I was still standing there waiting for my food. I was less-than-impressed, but I know that sometimes food takes a little longer (especially when lunch is starting and breakfast isn't ready-made anymore)...but once I checked my watch and realized it was literally 15 minutes as the guy finally handed me my bag of food, I became incensed. As he handed me my food, I said, 'It's been fifteen minutes!" To which he simply stared at me for half a second and walked away. Not even an, "I'm sorry," or "how can I make this better?"
I don't expect the best service in town from a fast-food place, but I expect something...anything that could be construed as trying. As a person who has spent a lot of his life working in different aspects of the service industry, I know that no manger would approve of this method of handling the situation. I can't, in good conscience, recommend that anyone use this location when there's another (and another and another) nearby that will likely do a better, more consistent job of providing quality food and service to...
Read moreOver the last 15 years that I've been sporadically visiting this specific McDonalds on North Cliff Ave in Sioux Falls, SD, more often than not, the service and/or food has been just plain awful. There have been long stretches of time where I've refused to go near this store, despite how it's location is extremely convenient for me, because I quickly got tired of the very poor service, constant mistakes and an awful experience 99% of the time. Then after a year or so, I'd decide that maybe there'd been enough turnover in staff... maybe, just maybe it would be better. A couple times, it was better... at first. But inevitably within weeks, it would be right back to the bad habits they exhibited before. I can only conclude that the problem is with management or ownership, because the rest of the crew changes pretty consistently. This morning, I was once again reminded why I stop going to this store. Simple order: Sausage biscuit with egg. Maybe I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that it was supposed to come with sausage on it. There was none. If it was an isolated incident, I would think nothing of it. People make mistakes. But this is the NORM at this restaurant. Short of unwrapping everything in my order, when I peek in the bag before driving away, it appears to be correct. But nope. I very seldom is correct. The drive thru was not busy at the time either. Whether it's a Big Mac with nothing but meat and bun... and when I ordered a Quarter Pounder, or completely missing items, or having to wait for a very long time in that special parking spot, even when I am the only person at the drive thru.... It's just ridiculous. It's a McDonald's... a certain consistency in service and quality is expected. This store IS consistent... consistently poor service and quality. If there is a plus, it's that the staff (not including management/crew leaders) usually still has a good attitude in their presentation. I guess...

: ̗̀➛ first of all, the atmosphere is so bad! there are flies EVERYWHERE (and trust me), i am not even exaggerating. there are flies in the bathrooms, on the counter, on the chair, drinks area, and even on people’s takeout bags!
╰┈➤ atmosphere is definitely a 1 star and i would NOT recommend eating inside
: ̗̀➛ im so disgusted by the flies around the McDonald’s, but putting that aside the smell when i walked in was so bad. im not sure what exactly costed that but it sure did downgraded my experience
: ̗̀➛ okay so i have stated how bad the flies situation is but haven’t really discussed why is it that bad ‼️ if there are flies in the customers area then there probably will be some in the kitchen, and if there are flies in the kitchen then the food will be dirty and the quality will not be good. i don’t wanna get sick over a cheeseburger so yeah…. there’s that
╰┈➤ there is a serious flies issue
: ̗̀➛ anyways now let’s go over some over things. the service was ok but don’t get your hopes high. it took so long to get our food, at least way longer than the other McDonalds. but honestly im not surprised because the staff were like talking to each other the whole time
╰┈➤ service speed :: very slow
: ̗̀➛ lastly the food was probably the best quality thing in this McDonald’s, butttt the fries were spilled all over the paper bag. that’s not the worst problem tho and cheese burger looked so squished. otherwise it’s pretty decent
╰┈➤ overall, the food, staff, atmosphere in this McDonald didn’t really meet my expectations and I thought tons of improvements should be made!
˚ · . 45% recommended honestly I wouldn’t recommend it based on my experience but you could consider coming here for a rest stop and get some food so you’ll be feelin’...
