BEWARE! If you are booking a birthday party or group event. Denise the owner will promise you the world and then take it all back on the day of! I was promised a reserved parking spot for a special birthday gift. She told me she would put a cone on it to reserve it for our daughter's surprise gift. Didn't happen and then told me to "just park in that little extra space" which wasn't even a parking spot. I reserved 6 tables on the patio closest to the end and they were supposed to have them ready by 5pm. Not one reservation sign was placed on them. I walked in and people were sitting on them so she tried to move me down to only 4 tables on the opposite side. I refused because we knew how many guests we needed to accommodate and indeed all 6 were needed. I reserved and paid for 2 batting cages for 2 hours each. They did not put up a reserved sign or anything showing we had a private party reservation so other people started using them and taking time away from our guests. Then the owner tells me, well you have 2 of them so just use the other one for now. She also told the people using them that they could have full access to all the cages and didn't mention anything about our reservation. They told me no outside food was allowed except cake. I had a candy table set up for the cake so after we cut the cake people could stuff their own goodie bags to take home with them. She came and tore it down. One of the little girls from my party tried getting a candy before she took it down and she took it out of her hand and told all my guests to leave the table before they could get their goodie bags since we had to pack it all up. Candy is NOT food, it was part of the dessert table and was meant to go home with guests! I was clearing my own tables and taking my own pitchers in to get refilled because her staff is so over worked for such a busy place. The Labor and wage board really needs to look into the legality of that because the only good thing at that place was the staff!! Tonya, Anthony and Delaney and about 2 other girls that I didn't catch their name were the best things there! So sad that a review like this is left because of the very person that owns the place and not the staff she employs. Makes me very sad to read these other reviews and think that these wonderful people are getting verbally abused. I love supporting local businesses but the owner needs to do better, we left with an $800 bill that night and memories for my daughters 18th birthday that even 3 months later I will never forget! Don't let your special event get ruined. I highly, highly recommend going somewhere else!

Home Plate has always been a local spot that feels very down home Marana. Your typical bar food and they have what everybody loves batting cages. The cages are very inconsistent but that where we go to hit some tanks. A few things have changed that had me scratching my head. Sitting at the bar I was asked what can I get you, I asked for a glass of water. I was then directed to the end of the bar where there was the water station to pour your own glass. I was thrown off about but I get it maybe just be easier for those who are out side in the cages. I also tried to prepay for an hr and the staff said that I should try the cage before I prepay as they throw different. I replied oh we have been here before so it’s all good. The response was they throw differint every time. I said ok. And we tried it decided to just use the 5 dollars in quarters and not get the full hr. Everything was good with the cages it just was weird that the staff was so quick to discharge renting the cage for the whole hr. maybe people have given them trouble in the past and they wanted to make it known for the machine inconsistency. Anyway my kid got his cage work in and enjoyed himself. Now about the food. Fried pickles were extremely good. crispy golden fried and not greasy or oily at all. They are very good. The only downfall is I wish I have more the $11 price tag is a little high for fried pickles in the area versus the quality but no complaint on the product itself because it was delicious. I also ordered a simple bacon cheeseburger with toppings on the side and well done french fries. The burger was very enjoyable very juicy not dry. The bun was very tasty and the texture was good. Cooked to a perfect medium all with extremely fresh ingredients. The fries were cooked well salted perfectly. Probably some of the better fries that I’ve had in a local bar in town. The staff is fun and attentive all good apologies you want to keep the locals coming in after week. They have a pool hall and plenty of TVs for sports. This place is definitely worth grabbing a meal and hitting some balls.

Visiting from Maine looking for a sport bar and this one looked good. Monday night not very busy! Put our order in a burger and the meatball sliders. Long wait considering not very busy. After twenty minutes or so a lady comes buy asking if we have been taken care of? I said yes and that I ordered the meatball sliders! She said oh you are going to love my meatballs. I was really anxious to try them at that point. Finally they came out and immediately I’m like this doesn’t look good! The mozzarella on the top was cold and so was the bread so immediately called waitresses back asking her to heat it up. Not sure why it would come out cold with cheese thrown on top that was not melted? She came back and said she had it put through the pizza oven. Also, the restroom didn’t flush and the men’s urinal had ice in it so it ended up splashing on him! No idea why ice would have been in the urinal?

Friends and family took me here on the 28th of May for my graduation. We were a party of 10 and we waited for 30 minutes at a high-top table and not once did our server attend to us during that time. I got the menu from the bartender after asking for it at the bar. The bartender kindly gave me the menu. Afterwards, the server (Jenn) came to our tables and asked what we wanted to get. I asked for a Blue Moon and a Western Burger, she rolled her eyes as I was giving her my order. I didn’t think much of it and the server began to take the orders of everyone at the table. She honestly acted like she didn’t want to be there. My sister asked for the price between a pitcher and a glass of Dos Equis, which she responded with “It’s a dollar difference.” My sister then asked for the prices which Jenn replied, “I don’t know, you can look with your eyes.”. The server never brought out any silverware, napkins, or condiments. She treated every request as if it were something difficult to do. She also treated one of friend’s child disrespectfully as well. She would make snarky comments under her breath and treated my friends and family like if we did something horrible to her.

The food was not very good, the burger I ordered had a cold bun and no seasoning whatsoever. The fish and chips my brother-in-law ordered smelled sour and tasted frozen. The beers that we ordered were the only thing that was good about that bar. This is upsetting because I have been here multiple times and have never had a bad experience whatsoever. But the way she treated my friends and family was uncalled for and unprofessional. Almost everyone (including myself) have worked in the restaurant/bar industry for years and we would have immediately gotten fired if we treated a customer that way. This is unacceptable, I will be sure to never come back here and I will also be sure to let everyone I know to never come here. Not worth your time, go to a...
