Wanted to try a non-chain breakfast place in our neighborhood, and based on the good reviews, I thought we would have a good time. Well, first thing this is on Monday morning at 10:30 and we were one of two tables in the place. We both ordered the huevos rancheros with chorizo, and it came to the table with no chorizo and with bell peppers? No where on the menu does it say anything about bell peppers on this dish. What if we had an allergy? But after waiting another10mins and trying to waive our server down, he finally came back, and we told him about the mistake of the chorizo. He just said o.k. and offered to bring a side out for each of us, right and wait, while the rest of our food gets cold. Then we had to convince him to have the dishes remade. We watched our server carry our food into the kitchen and have an argument with the cook about what was going on and the fact he tried blaming us for this, and the cook called him out on it. Showing him the original ticket that didn't have chorizo on it and the fact that he never entered it into the pos. We heard this entire conversation because the place is so small. Finally got our dishes back and the food was cooked properly so there were no issues with the kitchen. Our glasses never got refilled, and we never got an apology for the mistake. After all of this, we were expecting the manager to stop by and ask something but never happened. My girlfriend got up and asked for the manager. When he came over, we explained what had happened, and he offered a20dollar gift certificate and told us he's making personnel changes in the next month. Again, I was hoping for a place close to home to be good, but not here, very unprofessional, and we will...
Read moreBeyond disappointed. After reading the reviews, my husband and I went here for breakfast. When we arrived at 7:30 there were a party of 3 at the counter, and two gentlemen seated each by themselves.
Customer service: slow and vacant. We sat ourselves and were there for 8 minutes before she put down her phone, brought us menus and asked for our drink order. This was after the young man drying dishes told her several times we were there. Our food then sat in the window for 3 minutes before she, again, put down her phone. She never asked us how our food was or if we’d like more coffee until our meals were finished.
Food: cold and burnt. We each ordered chicken fried steak with over easy eggs, home-fries, and an English muffin. Everything was room temperature, at most. And the chicken fried steak should be called chicken burnt steak. The coating was beyond burnt, when I put my fork into my piece, the coating crumbled off in burnt pieces.
Customer service: I ate three bites of my steak, half of one egg, two potatoes, and half of the English muffin. The young lady came and took my plate away, as I set it on the edge as if I were done. She did not ask if everything was alright or anything. My husband ate the majority of his food and it wasn’t until he was done that she attempted to refill the coffee.
Extremely disappointed. We don’t like to complain in the restaurant for multiple reasons but mainly because they just comp you a meal. I don’t want compensated, I want a...
Read moreWe ordered a $3.00 London Fog (Earl Grey Tea + milk + vanilla) and a $4.50 Hazelnut Mocha so it should be a total of $ 7.50 for our drinks. When the check came, the waitress was in a hurry and was standing by our table waiting for my husband to take out his credit card. He didn't want to keep her waiting so he just gave her the credit without looking at the bill. When the credit card receipt came back, we looked at the bill and realized it was wrong. The restaurant charged us two cups of Latte $4.00 x 2 = $8.00 and a $5.00 caramel macchiato for a total of $13.00. It was completely different from what we ordered.
We told someone about the mistake. He looked at the bill and said he would take care of it. I assumed he would correct the difference which is $13 - 7.50 = $ 5.50. However, he just came back with a credit card refund receipt of $2.50 without any explanations. I asked how he got the number $2.50. He just said "oh that's the difference between the items we ordered and items being billed" and walked away immediately.
At this point, we gave up on asking them to correct the bill one more time. We just ate the cost of extra $3.00 charge. I understand that mistakes are made sometimes but this place did not show any efforts on correcting their errors or even apologizing. We will never come back to this place. If you are going to this place, beware of overcharge for things you...
