I live 6 miles away and eat here about 3 times per month. The Reuben sandwich consistently outperforms my expectations. (This is not a Specialty Sandwich boutique, but just a very clean local grill and bar with a congenial non-violent sports crowd, good prices, and great patio.) The swirling light and dark rye is served warm, just slightly toasted, and the Swiss is well melted and nutty. The sauerkraut is well drained. The serving size of meat and cheese is generous. I almost invariably take half home although I'm a relaxed, full eater. The French Fries are crisp and coleslaw is light. I have tried and enjoyed the tuna melt, the cheeseburger, and burgers with bacon and avocado as well as the po' boy sandwich and the fish and chips. The fish and chips we're not oily. The fish was light and delicate. By way of summary, this Grill is reminiscent of the country club lunches back in the 1970s. I have a signed for stars 4 stars simply because I would reserve 5 stars for a place I'd drive 100 miles to eat. But this is a first class Sports Grill, completely free of drunk scumbags. And that's a relief. Again I really love the Ruben, the burnished wood, the high ceilings, the patio, the consistently spotless bathrooms, the friendliness of the staff and the value...
Read moreFound this place after attempting to go to a nearby tap house that didn’t seat us or the party ahead of us after waiting for 10-15 minutes. We had hiked all day and were so hungry and this place had just what we needed! First of all the prices are AMAZING, pre-covid prices for sure. We were greeted when we walked in (already a step ahead of the aforementioned tap house) and swiftly brought menus. We started off with the fried pickles, crispy and very dilly! The only thing I could say negatively was that the sauce that came with them was a bit runny, the ranch too. But otherwise so flavorful! My sister ordered a jalapeño strawberry margarita ($8!!! And it wasn’t even happy hour!) which was delicious and spicy! My brother-in-law and I both got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and, let me tell you, that sandwich could’ve fed all three of us, it was massive. It had a good slice level and the cream cheese was a unique addition! The real star of the show was absolutely the sweet potato fries. So crispy but not dry, very flavorful, and came out nice and hot! Everything was delicious, the service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was energetic and welcoming. Definitely recommend this place for some good food,...
Read moreThe bar was fairly busy for a Thursday night. My wife and I were really impressed with the bartender who was extremely efficient (handling all bar patrons and not making the Servers wait long for their customer's drinks) and yet she still made us feel valued. I am giving the food a 3 star rating (although we did not eat) simply because nothing on the menu appeared to be anything special. Just simple barfare, too simple. The food may be made from scratch but in seeing the other customers food baskets, it looked pretty much freezer to fryer to fork. We only stayed for one domestic beer because the place was so loud. It really, really needs acoustic panels to absorb some of the excessive noise. An inexpensive fix. Cute place with a long bar, both table and booth seating, great bartender. Just needs a few "special" sandwich/appetizer options and better acoustics. We ended up leaving and going to a neighboring pub, spent $70 and left there extremely happy. Missing out on a $70 sale won't bankrupt the business. However, with a few tweaks to the menu and better noise control, our $70 each week could easily become $3,500 per year. And, that loss of revenue is just from my wife and I, imagine if 10 other couples each week feel...
