I saw all of the positive reviews and my wife was excited to have a nice brunch on our vacation. When we arrived, it was busy, but this was to be expected. The hostess was not at the entrance to greet us or take down our name for the wait list. After a few minutes, a waitress came by and reluctantly put our name on the list. However, we were never called to be seated. Finally, another party decided to wait for indoor seating, so we had to interrupt and let the hostess know that we would gladly eat outside. She eventually agreed to seat us at the open table outside. I don’t know if our name was ever really on the list... Things went from bad to worse. We ordered mimosas, which were good and nice pours, too, but we also asked for water. Our water arrived 20-30 minutes later, after reminding the staff two times. I would have asked our waitress, but she was busy serving other tables and didn’t come close to our table this entire time, other than to take our initial order. By this time we were also expecting our food. My wife was really looking forward to her eggs benedict. Another 10 minutes passed. The waitress comes by and and thanked us for our patience and said that there were “computer issues”. Meanwhile, people that order after us, were served what looked like delicious food. I was ready to walk out at this point, but my wife was hungry and sure that her food would be out any second. I agreed to stay for 15 more minutes and set a timer on my phone. Time passed more orders came out, none of them ours. The waitress continues to avoid our table. The timer goes off, we have now been here over an hour. I waited another 5 minutes to pay for the mimosas and tell the waitress we were leaving but she is still ignoring us. We finally just walked out. I considered the mimosas as payment for the inconvenience they just put us through. This was really about the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. And I don’t normally write reviews, but hopefully the owner will see this and correct their service issues. Perhaps our experience was just one in a million based on the other...
Read moreJust had the pleasure of enjoying the most delicious breakfast at Red Rooster on Marco Island! I had the banana, pecan, & cream Belgium waffle which was to die for! The homemade sweet cream took this dish over-the-top! My dad had the 10 oz. steak & eggs which also came with a side of his choice and toast. All for under $15! We have seen prices higher than that for less food at home in PA. So considering that this dish is being served at a restaurant near the beach, we were more than pleased! My mom chose the tall stack pancakes (3) with chocolate chips and a side of home fries. From the minute the home fries hit the table, you start drooling! :) They’re perfectly cooked - fork tender with a crispy exterior - and excellently seasoned!
Owner, Alan, brings home cooked food with affordable prices to the beach. Him and his wait staff are super attentive & friendly, giving this spot a comfortable, at-home feel. Restaurant and restrooms are impeccably clean.
Needless to say, my parents and I were more than satisfied with our entire experience at Red Rooster. This is our second time vacationing on Marco Island. Last year, after hearing of the popularity of Doreen’s Cup of Joe, we decided to give it a try. I’ll chalk it up to an off day, but we were not impressed and our wallets were hurting afterwards. Wish we would’ve discovered Red Rooster sooner! Their menu offers a good variety to satisfy any appetite. We will definitely return!
Thank you Alan & staff for a great experience! Keep up...
Read moreThe Red Rooster exceeded my expectations. I was staying down in Marco with a large group of family/friends. A few of us were up early and decided to scope out the area for breakfast (specifically, a great benedict). I'm not typically a breakfast person, but if I am eating breakfast somewhere, I'm always getting a benny.
As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by the owner, Al. He was friendly, attentive, and made it his priority to make sure that we were well taken care of. He assured me that my lobster benedict would be fantastic and he did not disappoint. Al personally brought out my benedict when it was ready. It was everything I was looking for, and so much more.
At the end of our meal, I noticed that the restaurant had these cute, hand-painted rooster shot glasses scattered throughout in various places. I made a comment to Al about how I'd love to take one home with me. Sure enough, Al walked over, picked one out, and brought it to me. I left The Red Rooster with a fully belly, an adorable shot glass, and a happy heart.
I would 100% recommend this establishment to anyone in the Marco Island area and will definitely be returning the next...
