Casa Magnolia — Restaurant in Marengo

I grew up in Iowa County but moved away to “the city” after I finished high school. I always lament the lack of quality sit down restaurant options when I come back home to visit. On my most recent visit we tried Casa Magnolias and they are 5 stars in every way. Some of the best flour tortillas and steak tacos I’ve ever had. Margaritas were perfect (not too sweet, not too boozy), service was friendly, fast and attentive. Family owned and run with the owner herself hosting and bussing tables.

Marengo, Iowa County, surrounding communities: I am begging you to support this place with everything you have. Places like this are becoming so rare in rural America and these folks are working their tails off. I can’t wait to come back on my next visit....

Visited Casa Magnolia tonight and loved it! The salsa that came when seated was amazing - chips were hot and fresh too. I had the pastor chimi which came with rice, beans, and guac. Meal came out piping hot and everything was delicious. On top of the food being great, the service excellent - drinks never ran empty, we were given more chips and salsa upon request, and the staff was very kind. This is the real deal, great family owned traditional Mexican restaurant. Exceptional salsa, the Mole is spicy and sweet just perfection. Great experience with homemade drinks that will have you coming back for more. Phenomenal service! Thank you for the amazing service along with delicious plates.
