Cold Creek Coffee Company — Restaurant in Margaretta Township

The worst ever buffet. EVERYTHING was COLD!! The steam table where the prime rib, veggies and potatoes were was cold. I told the server who looked like she didn’t wanna be there that my prime rib was cold she was nice enough to get a fresh piece from the kitchen it was cold also. All the lids remained opened on all the other hotel pans ( with stereos) but everything was cold . The only thing hot were the crabs legs because they kept bringing them out that’s what everyone was eating. The hush puppies all the shrimp the salmon. I don’t think their steam table is working or there was not water in the pans or maybe everything just needs to be covered and lids closed. Nothing in the pans was hot at all everyone at my table said their stuff was cold so I know it’s not me. I was afraid to eat anything else because of food poisoning. The only thing good was the cake and the crab legs. I hate complaining but for $74 a person is absurd. It wasn’t even worth $40. I was so looking forward to trying this out but I will never go back the health department should be aware of this. They were not even busy. DO NOT EAT...

Stopped in for lunch today at 2pm not knowing they close at 2, the open light was on. Would not have know that they were trying to close had my wife not asked if the coffee was fresh. The waitress told us that they were technically closed but it was fine. We felt bad and offered to leave but she insisted that it was fine because everyone was there and they were going to reopen at 4pm for buffet. We ordered burgers and our server made a pot of coffee (very good coffee I might add). Our food came out quickly and was very good. What followed is the reason for the poor review. We had an audience of employees(6 or 7 at one point) standing behind the counter watching us eat, (there were still ppl at 2 other tables eating as well) and we could here snide remarks and jokes being cracked at our server about closing time. We’ve been to Cold Creek Cafe a million times. It’s like the best thing my hometown Castalia has to offer. The appetizers are fantastic especially the Sampler. It’s a very cool place to hang with your friends. The staff is very friendly as well! My girl friends and I really enjoy hearing local music and this is also great place to do so. You should check out Master T.C. & The Visitors. They are a local band we see a lot around there that are very talented. The lead singer Master T.C. went to Margaretta. They always seem to bring a nice crowd as well. The Cold Creek Cafe has great sandwiches too especially the fish sandwich i got. The atmosphere is quite relaxing and always makes me feel at home. We hang out in the Castalia area a lot and will definitely be back. Thank you for always making this a great...
