An almost indescribable experience.
The business and BBQ recipe dates back well over a hundred years.The current owner's father opened the current storefront in 1964. It is only open for breakfast and closes down around 10:30 AM. In 2012, Jones won a James Beard America's Classic Award.
There is only 1 dish: pulled pork. It comes by the pound. You can get it as a sandwich too- they put the pork on white bread. It is really really good.
The owner was extremely nice. He showed me around the restaurant and after telling him I'm from California, he insisted I sign his guestbook. To date this is the only restaurant where I have signed a guest book.
If you ever get the opportunity to drive near Marianna, Arkansas, please do yourself a favor and go to Jones. The town needs all the help it can get and the food and history make the visit worth it. You...

It is tiny, just a couple of tables, but the pork sandwiches were smoky sweet and the sauce had a real kick from vinegar and cayenne. I had 2 chopped pork shoulder sandwiches on white light bread and 2 hot link sausages. The sauce was terrible,and the meat tasted like cotton and gamey. I don't know how long the hot link sausages had sat in the oven, but they were hard outside/inside. Not edible. I threw all that food out the window.
