Had an awesome experience and enjoyed our visit. Chef Rodney was very hospitable as well as Mrs. Chef and the rest of the staff. Excellent food and awesome dessert menu. Have some menu items that stay the same and some others that change. Open for dinner only on Fridays, closed on Saturdays, but open till 2:00 on Sundays. Lunch through the week. Highly recommended. Very upscale decor in a small town atmosphere. Spiritual overtone. Thanks Chef! TWO WEEKS LATER, UPDATE; UPDATE; For the life of me, I don't know what happened today. We came back today and brought a friend. We had bragged so much on this restaurant. We got in the door at 25min. after 12 o'clock on Sunday. There was standing room only just inside the door. We assumed it was a church crowd based on the time. Ok. A party of six was ahead of us, and a second party of six, and then us, a party of three. They finally seated the first six and we were left standing without even being spoken to. The second party of six was left standing also. During this time there were two empty tables. The second party of six asked if they could be seated at two separate tables and were told no. After waiting 20 minutes, I asked the hostess if we, party of three, could be seated at one of those tables since she was not going to seat anyone at them and was told no, because that party of six was ahead of us. I said, but you're not seating anyone at them, you're waiting on a larger table. She still said no. After 30 minutes some tables had cleared and the second party of six was seated. There were now four empty tables. We were still standing at the front door. I once again asked the hostess why were we not able to be seated and was told it had to be ok'ed by the waitresses. During this whole 30 minutes of standing at the door, not one other person, waiter, or Chef spoke to us. Chef Rodney went around table to table and did not bother to make it a point to speak with us. The hostess did nothing but stand there in front of us saying nothing. We stood another 10 minutes without being seated and we opted to leave. I've never seen a more ridiculous situation. A major portion of the tables had cleared and yet we were still standing. We were told by the young girl hostess that the waitresses had to take those other people's orders before she could seat us. I think the young hostess had no idea of what to do. She really looked confused. The actual waitresses never even so much as gave us a glance. At one point I had planned to talk with Chef about the situation, but I believed I might never get a chance. I have such high praise for the food and Chef, I will absolutely give them another try. We drove over from Texas just to eat here. After seven years in business, I can't see this as a work in progress. I was not only disappointed, in not getting to eat, I was embarrassed to my friend that I had brought with me. As a final note, I reccomend to give them a try. I understand when a place gets swamped and everyone is jumping through hoops to get everyone taken care of, but, this doesn't explain what happened today. Our first visit was fenominal. This second vist could not have been worse. Only time will tell when we try our next visit.

When we stopped in for lunch, we had no idea that this restaurant had been featured on Discover Oklahoma and owned by a chef from the DFW area. (We found that out after the fact.) The menu changes weekly, if not daily. The staff was friendly and attentive. When we arrived, we were one of the only ones there but tables quickly filled up. The samples of the daily soup were fantastic. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and side salad. The breading on the chicken had a unique flavor that paired nicely with the gravy, and I truly enjoyed this meal. Mrs. Flip Out had the fried chicken club sandwich and agreed that the fried chicken had great flavor. Little Flip Out and Littlest Flip Out shared their kids burger and they loved it. We didn’t save room for dessert but the options sounded great. The atmosphere is very warm, comfortable, and it’s easy to see why this place is a local favorite. Definitely worth the stop!

We very much wanted to LOVE this place. We're not from the area and were hoping to find a local treasure. The food was definitely good - and seemed as though it was all made on site (not just heated up food from Sysco). Homemade chips were really delicious! Super friendly and attentive staff. Chef Rodney even popped over to chat. We had the steak . . . quite tough but the flavor was pretty good. Took dessert home and really enjoyed the coconut Carmel cheesecake-y option. I imagine lunches are the best.

Coworker recommended this place and we finally took the 20 minute trip to try it out. The only real disappointment is that we didn't try it sooner. Our boys got the kids cheeseburger and fries. They were a bit disappointed in the size of the burgers, they were properly sized for kids, but our boys are used to fast food sized stuff. Once they took a bite though, they were very happy. The fries were excellent. I had fries as well with my catfish and okra. The catfish was incredible. My wife ate my okra and she was very pleased. She had the Cajun chicken fried ribeye, with veggies and mashed potatoes. It was all very good but the ribeye was spectacular. The Cajun spice was noticeable but not overpowering. I recommend getting tea or water as the sodas come in a can and you get a glass with ice. We decided to have dessert as well. The boys were happy with vanilla ice cream with chocolate drizzle. The wife had lemon meringue pie, which was very good. I went with the pecan/coconut cream pie and it was the favorite of everyone at the table. Portion sizes.were proper and prices, considering the excellent quality of the food, were...

My wife and I were visiting Ardmore and searching for a place for Sunday lunch. Willing to explore, we expanded our search all the way to the Texas border. We were drawn "the taste" in Marietta by its 4.9 rating on more than 100 reviews -- a real rarity. I'm delighted to report that we enjoyed an experience that exceeded our already high expectations. The ambiance was both eclectic and comfortable, and the service was friendly and gracious. We ordered the Sunday special lasagna and Monte Christo, and while waiting were offered complimentary samples of their soup and mulled wine. The food was exceptional, and Chef Rodney kindly joined us briefly and shared a few of his secrets that made our meal special. Our experience was wrapped up with complimentary fudge as an added dessert. the taste by Chef Rodney will be our go-to restaurant whenever we're in the area, and we would highly recommend it as a stop for anyone driving on I-35 between Oklahoma...
