The owner/manager and her granddaughter/niece seem like nice ppl. They were both pleasant. But, it took a long time for me to get my food. My daughter and my food came out at different times. We had nearly finished my food before hers made it to the table. Quality of the food was poor. The rice for both dishes (one had steamed rice; the other, fried rice) was mushy. I paid $50 for food I had to pick through.

Amazing food, unique atmosphere, very friendly owner. Thai food with a cajun kick! Highly recommended. Be weary there is smoking in the bar section but the restaurant side didn't smell like smoke.

Food was delicious as other reviews have stated. But we were waiting waiting waiting for everything. For our drinks, orders to be taken, drinks to be refilled, food to come out, the check, etc., etc. There were a lot of people there, and only one waitress and I used to be a server so I get it. Here’s just few things that happened: when we got there the waitress specifically offered egg rolls to us, making it sound like they’d be complimentary, they weren’t. (Which is just kind of odd). We didn’t mind waiting for our food but no one came to check up on us at all in the hour we were waiting. My boyfriend had an empty glass for probably 30 minutes and no one even passed by us so we could flag them down. Service was basically non-existent. There was no kind of apology about the service either- just a weak disclaimer when we sat down that there were a lot of people- which we could see. It took us about 30 minutes from the time we asked for the check to the time it took us to finally leave the restaurant. She had our card for about 15 minutes. All in all food was good but 2 people should not have to spend 2 hours at a restaurant when we could’ve been out of there in less than an hour if time was...

A Favorite hometown restaurant with Perfect environment for Family, Friends or Any Business or Social Group. Food is Delicious. Egg rolls are handmade and AWESOME. ALL SOUPS are made Fresh. Egg Drop, sweet & sour, glass noodle are my top 3 favorites. The Crying Tiger and Laau Nu are entree delicacies. My favorites. Hamburger Steak, also is, on the menu. Grandmother Yi from Thialand, I remember fondly, the love in each dish from the kitchen. TRADITION HOLDS TRUE TODAY, at Far Away Places. Antiques with a jukebox Free which is Loaded w Jazz, Blues, Classic Country, Rock and Gospel favorites set tone for the meal. Outside covered patio w stereo/occaissional live local performers. Order a "Mail Tai" or a "Walk ME Down" specialty favorite. MS. TIM IS THE PERFECT HOSTESS, ENTREPENEUR, and FRIEND one may share an outing WITH. NOTHING BUT LOVE GREAT FOOD TREASURED FRIENDSHIP & MEMORIES THAT ARE MADE...

This place is very different and unique. It has that fantastic, Thailand décor that doesn't quiet match but comes together just like what you would imagine a Thailand market restaurants looks like. I stopped by here a few times for decent pad Thai meals and drinks. It seems to be one of the last refuges for those who like to smoke during their meal. It is a bit on steep side so keep that in mind ordering your meal and drinks. It's true that the food does take a long time to get to your table. But considering there isn't much authentic Asian food in the Meridian/Marion area, this will do fine in order t get a break from all the Asian buffets...
