At first bite I was peeved (sandwich came out of the kitchen cold) that the sandwich was more chopped than pulled. I generally love the flavor of a pulled, less greasy bbq sandwich, but I can imagine a fresh & at- the- least WARM sandwich would taste real good from TRIP E. The SWEET 'E' sauce is pretty good and combined with the smoke flavor- sandwich it woke up my taste buds for a plentiful lunch. Great catfish here (actually better than the bbq sandwich) and a decent pup (1, for $20, but tasty like grandma used to cook e'm) and decent mustard- based potato salad. TRIP E, better than most bbq- imposters (that believe they can "smoke") in the southern USA. I hope when I try next, I can get a hit sandwich and upgrade this thing to a 5 star! Decent condiment- sides (Maters & pickles & onions for winter time <cannot wait to try this cuisine with 'garden- fresh'>).

We just love this place!!! They have a large variety of meals & appetizers - Each one as awesome as the one before!!!! We both had deep fried Southern Catfish, I had the deep fried California with ranch so yummy it's one of my favourite things!!! 😁🧡 & My Sister Jeanette Pulley had the Southern fried catfish, the deep fried shrimp, BBQ Ribs, fried mushrooms, Cole slaw & baked potato!!!😀 We were both very happy & full & ready for a nap!!🙄🤣 I want to say that their service was excellent very friendly The servers are on the Ball - they don't keep you waiting... Atmosphere is very comfortable in its very clean I will be recommending this place to anybody and everybody!! 👍

Made the drive from metropolis to try it out had been a couple years since I was there for the first time. The service was wonderful food was amazing I got the $2.99 pulled pork sandwich special (2) and a side of what looked to be hand battered Reid onion rings. I’m allergic to shellfish and she assured me I perfectly ok to get fried items as they are cooked in a separate fryer. Best onion rings I’ve ever had. Also the pork sandos were tender and juicy i love their spicy bbq sauce got a to go box for one of my sandwiches and she gave me a 4oz ramekin of the sauce to go as well. Highly recommend and i will be back!

A Decent Bite with Room for Service Improvement

Triple-E Barbecue North 37 in Marion, IL offers a reliably good meal in a familiar setting. The plentiful parking and easy in-and-out access are definite pluses, making it a convenient stop. Inside, the classic BBQ-style decor remains, feeling comfortable and well-established. The seating, primarily four-tops, is decent and can easily be expanded to accommodate larger groups. Daily specials provide good variety, and the pricing is comparable to other similar establishments.

On our recent visit, the food was, as expected, good. Nothing to write home about, but solid and satisfying. We opted for the fish plate special: two fried fillets, a generous helping of fries, slaw, a thick slice of bread, and a single hush puppy. Drinks were included, and onion and tartar sauce were available upon request. The food arrived hot and fresh, a definite positive.

Where things fell a bit short was the service. While we were seated quickly and our initial drink and food orders were taken and delivered promptly, the server seemed to lose focus later in the meal. Drink refills were neglected, even after an empty glass was strategically placed in view. One server did eventually refill my drink, but then walked away without addressing the other person's empty glass. Furthermore, no bill was left at the table, requiring us to seek out the counter to pay. It seemed the staff's attention was more on their own conversations than on their tables.

Despite the service hiccups on this particular visit, We will return. Our past experiences at Triple-E Barbecue North 37 have generally featured better service. The good, hot, and fresh food, combined with reasonable prices and convenient location, makes it worth another visit in hopes that the service returns to its usual...

I called in an order for 6 people and the employee taking the order wasn’t friendly at all. I figured maybe she was just busy.. I got there to pick up the order and a blond with glasses and a waitress were behind the counter. There was no greeting or “can I help you” the blond just looked at me, so I told her I was there to pick up an order and my last name. Still no response, she just pushed 2 bags towards me and stated the total. I handed her my card and she processed it, handed it back to me, then layed the receipt and a pen on the counter and walked away into the kitchen. No “thank you”, nothing. I’m a healthcare professional that works in a retail setting and was shocked by that kind of service. There were 2 people in the restaurant eating. That’s it. Even if there were 20 takeout orders being processed (mine was the only one on the counter), it only takes a second to smile or say thank you. I know what it’s like to be treated rudely by customers and we are coached to be friendly at ALL times no matter how busy we are and our customers truly appreciate us. I will most definitely not be returning to Triple E again. The food was ok, sandwiches were very dry. I will be happy to go to a place that appreciates...

What a disappointment we called marion triple e at 6pm to ask what time they closed was told 7 i said ok will call back but i asked if they had any issues with phone cause i have trouble getting thru she said no we dont have call waiting i said ok and began to call back at 610 t only to get a busy signas has happened several times before. We just decided to drive over we arrived at 640 was met in parking lot with another lady who said she had been trying to call for an hour. I have 120 attempts to call from 610 to 645 only to get the busy signal. So its obvious they take the phone off the hook to avoid taking orders. I walked up to door at 644 with the other customer wanting to order and worker said they were closed for day ok i said well i guess she must own the place and had made enough money for the day to turn away bussiness its just sad so many otthers are struggling and this one is so well off that they can piss on the working people who depends on them. So for the laugh you gave us as we were leaving i hope helps you when u find yourself struggling i will never spend another dollar in that store again i will drive to lake of egypt as they were willing to take my order and wait on us to get there...
