Uncle Jon's Coffees — Restaurant in Marion

I have lived in Marion for a year now and have watched uncle jons go down hill. From the lack of service skills, to their crazy old school ordering process that does not work leaving orders wrong over 80% of the time. The walls have nothing on them, merchandise is gone, the outdoor seating is old rusty and disgusting. No one keeps up with the cleaning indoors especially the coffee area. For over two weeks now you have been out of the coffee sleeves and are now giving customers two cups since the coffee is so hot. What a waste of business expense. Either something is going wrong with the business functionality or they are in business crisis. This place is gone so far downhill! It was filthy, the tables weren’t clean and the place stank of stale food and coffee. Service was terrible. The servers squished 3 sandwiches into one small brown bag. The sandwiches weren’t wrapped properly, so they fell apart n the bag. Nothing was labeled so we couldn’t tell which sandwich was which. When I ask what the sizes for drinks were, I got barked at a bunch of numbers of ounces, - like I have a running gage of ounce sizes in my head! The server was flippant and dismissive. She acted like this was the last place she wanted to be, dressed in a t-shirt, sport shorts and flip flops. This place used to be nice. Thank goodness Marion has Uncle Jon's. Open at 5AM every day, and they are happy to see you no matter what time of day it is. Great, locally roasted coffee (regular, dark roast and flavored - AND they keep the flavored "flavor" from infiltrating the regular and dark roast). Muffins that taste better than homemade - their Morning Glory muffin has sustained many an early morning boat ride with my family. Egg sandwiches cooked to order, wraps and salads, cold drinks, hot drinks - whatever my family needs at that moment is satisfied by Uncle Jon's.
