We stopped by on a holiday so the hours were a bit different than a usual Monday would be. We got there at noon (1st ones inside) and got settled in fairly quickly and able to ask questions without feeling like we were holding up the line. The Beer and food were pretty decent. I’m sure the view here is incredible, but as luck would have it we visited on a snowy day so we only got a quick glimpse of it. I liked the setup and the design of the room. There were all types of games to play and Every single table had one going on. We each had a few beers and liked each one. When it came to ordering food we hit our only snag. We wanted a pizza with a simple modification to have one of the ingredients only put on 1/2 of it and they flat out told us “No that’s too complicated”. Even after we reiterated stating that we still intended to pay full price, we’d just prefer to have only 1/2 with that one topping, they insisted it wasn’t a possibility. And by No means am I ever one to get bent outta shape over being told ‘No’. I’ve been in the business for over 30 years and can completely understand when something simply isn’t possible. But like I said, we were the 1st ones there, ordered right away and were quickly Dismissed when ordering. So we went without entirely. It was only when ordering that we encountered unfriendly service. Other then that we had a great time in our own little world playing chess and trying the different...
Read moreThis is somewhat of a bittersweet review.
We visit yearly, and we have always looked forward to our visit and encouraged people to go when we hear people are visiting. I'm not so sure we'll be so excited next year, and likely won't be recommending it as freely as we have. Recommendations will come with caveats.
Over the years, we've enjoyed the pizza and beer along with friends. Something just felt different tonight.
The hours are mediocre, especially for a Friday night. The place was filled with expecting "love me love my kids" clientele (not the venues fault).
The pizza was excellent as usual, but the beer selection was meh. No porters, stouts or browns. Just the typical run of the mill IPAs, and a few other options. The red was good, but all I would drink.
While the staff was nice and friendly, aside from the typical tip on beer, the expectation of tips (as per their many tip jars and signs to tip) was a bit obnoxious in conjunction with the "clean your own table" (or something to that effect) signs on the tables themselves. We tip bartenders and waiters, not chefs. Chefs/cooks get paid a salary, or at least an hourly wage (fair or not).
Perhaps the owners no longer care and hope to have cash cow that will just sail along with little attention. Perhaps it was just an off night. Who knows. But, it affected our view and perception...
Read moreWe reserved a campsite for 2 nights to split up our drive on the way to our destination and back home. A great location! The beer and pizza are delicious! The employees are laid back and good people. While we were setting up camp, the band started playing, and we were eager to go down to the brewery. We sat outside with our beers to enjoy the view and music while we waited for our pizza. Unfortunately, the exceptionally wet season decided to roll in and interrupt. This place has a good chill environment outside and inside, so it was still very enjoyable. Once closing came, we headed back to the campsite. We were the only ones, so once all the cars rolled out, it was quiet and peaceful (there is road noise but not a big deal). We walked around a bit. I brought my camera to take pictures. There was a spectacular view of lightning in the distance. My only regret is that we weren't able to use our second night on the way back home. With a bad storm coming, we decided to drive straight home. We will definitely do this again next time we do this trip. Here's some of the pictures I took...
