A taste of Tennessee-style BBQ up in Southern VT! This is a family that previously owned a restaurant in Wilmington about 10 years back. Be warned - no public restroom access here because this is an old house they've taken over and the septic system is NOT set up for more than a family They reopened a small "to go" joint and it's absolutely delicious and should not be passed up when driving up Route 9 from Brattleboro to Marlboro. This is family owned and operated and they are absolutely sweet people and the food is delicious. I got an authentic pulled pork sandwich, macaroni cheese 🧀 and baked beans on the side, as well as a big fresh baked chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The owner was kind enough to slip in a small slice of cornbread 😋 too. Everything is made there and local residents also sell their honey, preserves and syrup n things here. They have a waiting area where you can play ping pong or read a book. The books 📚 are free to swap and trade out, in case you want to bring your authentic TN BBQ home with you and curl up and read a book by the 🔥 fire. Definitely stop by and check it out. You won't be...
Read moreIt's a family run store which I figured would be better than average food. The mom was the nicest person who took our order. The sign outside said :"good food" so I made a u-turn and went back for lunch. After waiting 25 minutes to get a pulled pork sandwich and a turkey melt with 2 sides we got back on the road. Well I'm sorry, first of all the "authentic" Tennessee style was nothing more than dried out pork on a hamburger bun with bbq sauce on the side, better off with McyDee's McRib! The turkey sandwich was dried out left overs. I asked mom about the coleslaw. She said she made it herself. Very sad, mom. Better off with KFC slaw. The side of onion rings were cold, probably fried hours ago. We both had 2 bites of our sandwich's, threw out the slaw and ate the cold onion rings. I'm not a mean person and always give people the benefit of the doubt but it was terrible. Mom's smile was the only good thing at this establishment.
And no rest room!
Went to Chick-fil-a once we got out of...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this takeout spot, and it exceeded all expectations. It’s truly something to rave about. We indulged in the Chicken Fried Steak, paired with curly fries, mac and cheese, onion rings, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes—each dish was absolutely delicious. The highlight? Their gravy. It’s a must-try which I highly recommend trying on anything they serve. It adds a rich, comforting flavor that takes the dishes to another level.
The diner also offers a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, complete with games to enjoy while you wait for your order. Conveniently located near the Maple Museum, this spot is a perfect stop for great food and a little fun. I highly recommend...
