The Island in Ishpeming is INCREDIBLE! My Mom and I both ordered the Ruben, and I upgraded to Onion Rings. Our food was ready for pickup in only 15 minutes. I'll break down my review per category below. Price 5/5 Stars: The price for items on the menu are very good. The Ruben at $12 was huge; loaded with perhaps the best meat I've ever had in a ruben and carefully crafted with just the right amounts of everything. The marble rye bread was delicious, the sauerkraut and thousand island dressing were perfect. The onion rings are definitely worth the upgrade, too! They are large, no-nonsense onion rings that paired perfectly with my Ruben. I tried a couple of the chips and those are really good. Food 5/5 Stars: The food at The Island is delicious! I have only tried the Ruben so far, and there are many options to choose from (and I will be trying them!). You can tell that they care; these sandwiches were put together very well. Inside/Outside 5/5 Stars: The parking is good for The Island, and I was able to park immediately and enter. Very clean inside and out, which is great to see at a restaurant. Staff 5/5 Stars: The staff at The Island are extremely friendly and personable. I felt welcomed when I went in to pick up my food. Overall 5/5 Stars: The Island is a much needed and welcome addition to Ishpeming! I am so happy you are here and I can tell you are going to be a major HIT for us all! Bravo, The Island!

I’ve had this food truck in Houghton and now at the Guts frisbee tournament in MQT. Nice people working the truck and the food is delicious! The Fetanator is in the pic. We also had the Dar, the breakfast burrito and the Shawarma.

Parked outside Blackrocks tonight. We had a Reuben and Gyro, fries and chips. Delicious flavor on both and nicely salty fries and chips! Goes great with beer!;) Super friendly service.

Wow, I am so impressed with The Island. I'd had their food from the food truck once before and really loved it so I was happy to taste that the brick and mortar location is just as good. Their chicken shawarma is fantastic - I've craved it since the first time I had it. Like seriously, as much as I want to branch out and try other things on the menu, the shawarma is so good that I don't think I'll be able to deviate from it!! Good portions/prices too. Service is fab - ordered for pickup and the guy who took my order on the phone (I think his name was Jacob?) was super friendly. Order only took 10 minutes and it was still warm and delicious after the drive home. I'll definitely keep supporting and spreading the word about this place! It's so nice to have a quality food option in the Ish/Neg area other than just...

Evening of 2/19, early 2/20. I was really looking forward to a coney and fries. Payed with card and gave gratuity. Come to get food, and he says he didn't have any more hotdog buns. So aside from not knowing inventory before taking orders, I was dismayed about how it played out. Other cx's are about.. He hands me $4 in cash I didn't ask for. I was looking for solutions, and it really just didn't feel like he, was. So I was super disappointed, but took my coney-less fries and left. So, even with my 'refund' I payed 20% gratuity for an incomplete meal.. aka plain fries. They were ok, but I wanted FOOD. Really, really hope the cookings better than the...
