Mi Ranchito Mexican Grill & Seafood — Restaurant in Marshalltown

I don't typically eat Mexican food, but I decided to try this place due to the appealing picture advertisements I've seen on Facebook. The food looked tasteful, and I wanted to try their Mexican cuisine for the first time. Upon entering, my friend and I were not greeted. We turned the corner to find the entire family, including babies, and the whole restaurant engaged in a fight in the back. My friend felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave, but I suggested staying. However, after standing there for 10 minutes without being acknowledged, we decided to leave and try another Mexican restaurant. We sat outside, hoping the fight would subside, as I still wanted to try their food. Upon re-entering, the fight continued, so we left again. This was my 3rd visit to this establishment. I say that to set the stage of this review. The 1st time, and 2nd time the food, service, and price per person were a very pleasant surprise. Both of these visits were pre-pandemic. Now, the prices are a bit higher, but still wouldn't be bad of the food had stayed on par. My retired beans has dry crusty flakes of bean in then, indicating that they'd been sitting out and/or reheated too many times. The rest of the meal was mediocre at best. Food was beyond delicious 🤤 I enjoyed every bite. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the service. Our waitress did not come to our table until almost 20 minutes after we sat down. When she finally did come to take our drink orders, we had to wait another 25 minutes for our drinks. I even had to get up and ask for our drinks after waiting so long. Food took over an hour and by that time my kids were so hungry and impatient. I will definitely come back again though, I just hope that the service improves. Great...
