Over-fryed and dense. Probably the worst donut shop donuts I have had. I don't understand how this place has such a high rating.
We love donuts and frequent donut shops when we travel. We bought a dozen to sample all the varieties. I only liked one. In general, they were overcooked, dry, and dense. Maybe this is how they make donuts in the Northeast, but I am used to a lighter, better tasting donut.
The coating of the crunch donut was very good. Most of the others were dry because they had been cooked too long, the marble especially. Disappointing.
The shop itself is very cute and the worker was nice also. We visited in a Thursday morning about 7:30 am. We stopped earlier this week at 9:15 and they were sold out for the day.
Another positive is that they were reasonably priced. However, that doesn't mean a lot of the donuts aren't good. They only take cash, which is inconvenient.
I don't write very many two star reviews and I am hesitant to give a small business a poor rating, but consumers are expecting an honest assessment when referring to reviews when making a decision.
