I strongly urge others to think twice before visiting this establishment. Our group of seven, all well over the age of 21, was treated with an alarming lack of respect and fairness. From the moment we walked in, the staff were dismissive and unwelcoming. The most troubling part of our experience involved the profiling and mistreatment of the only person of color in our group. Despite having a valid ID, she was accused of carrying a fake, while everyone else was admitted without issue. It’s hard to see this as anything but discriminatory. When we raised concerns, the situation only worsened. The bartender not only refused to acknowledge the problem but also gave us conflicting information and ultimately denied service to our entire group based on this one unjustified accusation. It felt punitive and targeted. After living in this community for over 53 years, it’s heartbreaking to witness this kind of behavior. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues seriously and implements necessary changes. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected based on race or association.
I will not be returning, and I urge others to hold businesses accountable for how they treat...
Read moreWas looking for a friendly place to sit and eat and The Voyage Irish pub hit the nail square on the head. Walked in and I could just feel the positive energy. The staff was extremely friendly and I was seated at the new bar within minutes. Roo the bartender at the time took my drink order after listing the many different beers on tap. After settling for the crisp apple cider I mentioned to her that it was my first time in the establishment. she welcomed me a second time with a smile. Not long after I placed my order for there Irish beef stew (which Was better then my mother’s though I won’t tell her that) I was then greeted by Kieth O’Callaghan who turned out to be the owner of the restaurant. He asked how I was getting along and after a short conversation i found it was refreshing to know he was from Cork City Ireland. Overall I thought the place had a great atmosphere, great food and to be greeted so friendly by the staff and the owner himself was a wonderful addition to my visit. 10/10...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with and baffled by the unfair treatment, racial profiling, and discrimination a friend and I faced at The Voyage.
I attended The Voyage on a Saturday night with a group of around 20 people. My friend and I both got IDs checked at the door and were allowed in and had our hands marked to show we were over 21. When we tried to order at the bar, one of the bartenders (a younger brunette white woman) approached us with a hostile attitude and denied us drinks because our IDs “wouldn’t light up.” I have a NH ID and my friend has a MA ID. We were the only people not served out of my group (several people in the group had out of state IDs and were served). I have a dark complexion and my friend is Brazilian, the rest of our group is white. I have never had an issue with my ID since turning 21 at any bar or restaurant.
Looking at previous reviews, this seems to be a repeated behavior that should be...
