Crabs Down Under — Restaurant in Overlea

I absolutely love this place! I love their crabs and I love their service. I come here consistently throughout the warmer months. I gave a 4 instead of 5 because they are not open all year long like some of the other crab spots in Baltimore, and location/parking. I believe they have a new sign now so you can see it from the street, but you can't drive by too fast or you will miss it. I used to drive by this place for YEARS and someone told me about them and I didn't realize they were there. But once you find them, you will not be disappointed. As with most crab spots, its best to call your order in ahead of time, or you will have to sit and wait and it can get hot and steamy in there. I can't wait until they open for this season! OH! And they always have contests going on that you can win free crabs, who doesn't...

So I've only ordered crabs here myself twice so far, but both times were THE best to-go cooked crabs I've had in my adult life.

Every single crab is worth eating, even worth celebrating. First time, 2 summers ago, I believe we scheduled a large order a day ahead and I was blown away by the quality. Last week, on a whim, we did a daily special on 2doz small males - and let me tell you - even when one felt light (which was the exception, not the norm) it was still packed to the gills with meat. Since then I've loudly been singing their praise and 2 friends followed suit after being convinced by my gospel.

I write this review, but can't even be upset that the recent "Best crabs in Baltimore" list from Baltimore Banner skipped this spot because I am so tempted to keep it a secret for myself!!

The reviews don’t lie and I see why!This place has some VERY good grabs and mine were steamed to perfection.The seasoning they use is very flavorful and crabs were very meaty.The customer service was great very friendly staff and efficient service.When you mix the two together you can’t go wrong.I recommend calling in your order before you arrive as this establishment is quickly gaining attention! Did I mention the price? Very affordable and competitive pricing compared to most seafood establishments.I now see why they have such excellent reviews and look forward to going here again at Crabs Down Under.I highly recommend this place and give it a 5...
