Tried this place for the first time today. I’ve eaten greek food my whole life being an Irish kid from Queens that went to school in Astoria. 🤷♂️ I got a lamb Souvlaki platter with roast veggies and small side salad. My wife got her favorite Spanakopita (spinach pie) that came with a small side salad. The lamb was tasty. Quality meat. Cooked well, not tender (which would be chewy) not dry either. Not the best but no way a compliant either. I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5. The veggies were plentiful and had a good seasoning and were not soggy! Good thing. A 4.5. The Melitzanosalata (Eggplant dip) was very good. My wife’s Spinach pie was very good. She actually said it’s the best she’s had outside of Greece. Big flavor, big slice and big chunks of feta. She gave it a 5! I tried a bite and I agree. Solid item from their menu. The side salads were very good. Plenty of tomato and green pepper. Dressing was excellent. Makes me think a full salad from the menu would be fantastic. We also got a side Baklava for dessert. Nice portion. Not as flaky as I prefer. Decent. Nothing special but nothing wrong with it either. 3 stars. Which means as expected. Try it! It’s a to-go place so atmosphere is irrelevant. It’s the food and staff that matters. Staff was great! Like I said. This was my first visit so as I return, which I will, I’ll update my review. First visit is a solid 3.5. I love greek food and will work my way through the menu. Like any place, no such thing as perfect but I’ll try to find and share which dishes are a must. We found one right away. That’s a big deal. 👍👍 I went back today and got the.Moussaka. It’s really good. 4.4 stars....
Read moreThis a small spot with great Mediterranean Food. My wife and I ordered her this evening for an early Mother's Day Dinner. We opted for the lamb yeeros stuffed with french fries, fully loaded with tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki sauce.
I would personally recommend getting the extra side of tzatziki sauce for an additional charge, as I felt like there wasn't enough on the yeero for me. Again, this is purely a personal opinion, as I like things drenched in sauces.
That aside, the staff were very friendly, everything was absolutely delicious. It was a HUGE portion for the $14.00, so very much worth the money. The yeero was stuffed to the brim on a very large pita that tasted like even it was freshly made. It was actually enough to feed my wife and I twice. We got full about halfway through. Much love and appreciation to Eat Like a Greek and their staff for helping make my wife's mother's day special. We know where our...
Read moreDisappointing. Enough that I’m not even interested in exploring other stuff on the menu. Had one each of the lamb and chicken gyros. Meat came out of a metal tray on the hot table where they were soaking in juices or a broth. No grilling spits to be seen. Then, they put a handful of seasoned French fries in the pita w the meat. Significantly more fries than meat. Lemonade made to order was flavorless - basically ice water w a lemon squeezed in it.
Also note that if you order from the app, the item names on the app don’t line up w the item names on the menu. It’s “classic gyros “on the menu; it’s a “wrap” on the app. Struck up a conversation w the guy fixing the food. He’d never heard the term “shawarma.” Curious - for a guy...
