Update 7 June 2018: Not more than 12 hours after I posted my initial 3 star review (below) the manager, Bethany, contacted me and said that she was very disappointed in how I felt about our visit. So she immediately made it right. We went back just the other night and all was absolutely wonderful. Food is always great (at Ledo's). But this time the service was exceptional, and they had our comp on record with no questions asked. So Ledo's in Elkridge now officially has a 5 star rating from me. Thank you Bethany and Sara (the other manager)!
Normally Ledo's Pizzas are easy 5 star restaurants. But this new location isn't the best. We went there tonight for pizzas (of course), but specifically here for our kids' school PTA fund raiser. Pizza was pretty much like any other Ledo's. But the service was a bit slow and our waiter seemed to be in a kind of I-don't-really-care state of mind. And he wasn't even aware of the fundraiser, whereas if I owned a restaurant and was helping a local school like this I'd have my entire staff all over it.
The other thing that bugged me was that they clearly don't understand simple arithmetic. I wanted to share one pizza with my daughter, so half plain and half with a topping. Now, simple math says that if you only put a topping on half of a pizza you can double up and put the rest of the topping on that same half; it's the same amount of topping overall. They wouldn't do it. So I asked if they would consider giving me a second type of topping instead, but at the price of just one topping. After a good 5 minute conversation in the back our waiter returned and said No. I've been to a lot of places that do understand arithmetic, especially when it only adds up to the number 1, and they've almost always understood and in the effort to provide good service they did it. It is no extra cost to them whatsoever. But this place? No. Very...
Read moreI typically love Ledos especially this one because my son plays at the field close by. In fact, I have been a patron of this particular Ledos several times over because of its proximity to my son’s soccer practice. This will be my final time making a purchase here. I was treated rudely, unfairly, and finally I was placated like a child. I came as a table of one and ordered seasoned fries and a sprite. It took 20 minutes for my cold plate of unseasoned fries to reach me. When I flagged the waiter down after several attempts to get his attention I asked if they were seasoned, the waiter took my question as rude and snatched the plate from me. A woman returned with my same plate with more seasoning than fries. I was scared to ask for anything else but, luckily I never had an opportunity to because no one ever returned to my table. I went to the front to pay for my food and told the young man that I detected an attitude from him. He felt justified because he thought my asking him if the fries were seasoned was a snarky question. I didn’t even remember asking him the question but it’s totally possible that I did. I thought I had told him that I order seasoned fries and that they were not seasoned. Either way I was legitimately confused as to how that justified his attitude. A supervisor or someone who I think was a supervisor stepped in and the confusion continued. While trying to have dialogue she said it’s ‘ok, baby’. It was wildly unprofessional and uncomfortable.
I learned I was being treated this way because a large group of parents that I knew walked in after me and there was an assumption from the Ledos team that I was with them. I walked away without an apology or an acknowledgment that they were wrong.
I wanted an apology. I wanted acknowledgment that I deserved to be treated with respect. I...
Read moreFamily friendly establishment with a "Little Ledo Library" located at the front of the store for kids and teens to read while they wait. How cool is that?!? My 6yo son got to enjoy some books while waiting for our food and I got to enjoy someone not calling my name every five seconds. Good size restaurant with a small, but quaint bar and an outdoor patio to enjoy your meal in the sunshine. I wasn't enjoying any adult beverages, but it seems they sell beer and a quite a few wines.
When you enter the building, the carryout counter is located immediately in front with large menu boards and hand held menus for easier reading. The staff was very friendly and helpful on questions and selecting whether to eat in or carry out. As we had never been here, we decided to dine in. The dining room was very clean and the menus were already located on each individual table. The price range was great, especially for food that is fresh and made to order. They offer a variety of options for everyone and also had a coloring sheet (with a kids menu) for my son. My son got the jumbo nuggets meal, which came with apple sauce, fries or broccoli and I opted for a side salad with their house dressing (oh my gosh) and a cheese pizza. Crust was light and flaky with a sweeter sauce that was delicious. Pepsi products offered via fountain or bottle. Apple juice and fruit punch as well as some caffeine free sodas for the kiddos, so that was pretty awesome.
Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely...
