Update from 9/2/21: Came here a second time with out of town family and once again was disappointed. Our food took over an hour to come out, which wasn't the main issue. When it finally did, the fried cod and fries had been fried in old oil so everything had a horrible oily, ashy burned flavor. The only saving grace was our lovely server tonight. My first review: I've been to Lure's on 3 separate occassions with out of town guests and have been mildly impressed - but each time i was with someone who was happy with their meal, so I figured I must be ordering mediocre dishes. This is the first time I've been truly disappointed. I ordered the Beef Stroganoff - the first time I've ordered a non-seafood dish. The beef short rib was dry upon first observation- it appeared to be what I would describe as "mom's leftover roast beef" kind of dark in color and stringy with a tough texture on the outside that almost looked like it was freezer burned. I brushed this off to me not knowing what beef short rib looks like and broke it up into my dish. I struggled through a few bites and couldn't get past that nagging sense that I was eating something that was at least a day or two old and was re-heated. You know that weird, refrigerator taste that re-heated, specifically microwaved meat gets? That. I decided to stop eating the meat and picked at the bland noodles and sauce.i gave our very friendly server the feedback and he picked at it with a knife and unfortunately charged me the full $22 for the dish that I hardly ate. We spent $109 tonight- most of our party was happy with their dishes but alas- I will not be bringing out of town guests here again. If you choose to go, get...
Read moreShopping in Waugh Chapel and wanted to eat somewhere different that served fresh fish. Lures showed up in the Google search with good reviews. We drove about 15 minutes to Lures, almost passed it as the road is dark, but the parking lot is huge and well lit.
As it was a cool, but nice Saturday night, we were seated on the outside deck under an overhead heater. Our server, i want to say her name was Megan, but i could be wrong, was beyond pleasant, answered all of our questions and made recommendations. We started with the crab dip, which was delicious and full of lump crab meat. For entrees we ordered the rockfish and tuna prepared au poivre. My girlfriend swapped out the asparagus for spinach. The au poivre wasn't the best preparation for either fish, but it was the only option that came with sides and didn't have bacon. As the appetizer was so delicious, we were expecting the same for the fresh fish, only to be disappointed.
I ordered the tuna medium rare (seasoned and seared). It came out bland and pink. My girlfriend said her rockfish was also unseasoned and bland. Our server took my plate back and showed her manager, and they both agreed it shouldn't have been that color and comped both meals. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding which had a strawberry and cream filling. That was very tasty.
Though there was an issue with the entrees, I will definitely give them a second try based on the customer service and the other dishes...

Sorry to say this place has slid down hill since 2017. I know inflation is happening, but their prices went up a few years ago accompanied by a noticeable decrease in both quality and portion size.
Their burgers used to be my number one favorite burger, but each time we’ve gotten them from 2020 forward, especially today, the paddies were over cooked, dry, and cold, the toppings were thrown on and cold…
And the weirdest thing.. the goat cheese was gritty and seemed to be mixed with ricotta which has never happened before
My partner got the Korean chicken burger which was a glorified chicken paddy that had no texture and honestly tasted stale. It needed a crust, and the sandwich as a whole needed flavor… anything!! Maybe some citrus and spice to freshen it up because the coleslaw was sad and soggy. He said he would rate the sandwich a 1/5, but because he is a hungry dumpster, he just ate it anyways.
Both of our fries were lukewarm.
For $13-15 a plate… maybe… but buying an $18 sandwich, not on par.
We did have a nice experience with our waitress Avelynn who was very attentive and sweet, but, as a whole, 50% of the teenage girls on staff can be a little cold and catty seeming. One of them got visibly annoyed when we asked if we could have a different table that wasn’t under the speaker.
This place used to be our go to. We’re a...
