New White Swan — Restaurant in Maryland

Smelled like old cigarette smoke. Cream of crab was brown and borderline fishy, french onion was light and flavorless. Server was nice and service was overall quick. Just let down by the quality of atmosphere and food in such an expensive place to live.

I really had higher expectations from other's reviews. I tend to rate higher than my experience generally because people and places have off days....but this was between 1 and 2pm on a Sunday and the only other people were a large party in the dining room that left because they were cold and a couple at the bar. I couldn't rate on a curve for this experience. Hope they do better as they are the first eatery/bar once you drive through the expanse of trees. Essentially welcoming you to Millers Island.

If this wasn't a one off experience and was a typical Sunday....I don't know how they remain open with the likes of Dock of The Bay...

Been here several times for lunch. The atmosphere is casual neighborhood bar with restaurant seating as well. The restaurant side has little decoration on the walls but that's not an issue for me. The comfort food served here is well prepared and fresh. Personally, I think they have the best hot turkey and hot beef platters. The meat is cut thin from a roast and turkey, not lunch meat, but Sunday dinner quality. There are several specials on Sunday and through the week to choose from. This is a nice place for the locals to hang out and become a family. The new white swan is a restaurant not only a bar. The food that I had tried was buffet style fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans and all the special Foods normally prepared on a buffet table. I'm very picky and the food tasted pretty good :-) I was very pleased with the friendly service and how comfortable being in this place actually made me feel even though it was a sad day for the loss of my uncle Sonny Jackson.
