I give this Popeyes overall a 2 Stars and here's why. I moved here from Virginia where our Popeyes always served the food hot, made sure your order was correct, and gave you all the sauces you wanted to complete your meal. So, of course, I loved that Chicken from Popeyes while there. But I can't say I've had this type of service since moving back to Maryland. Overall the food is good if they give you fresh-made food. The day shift seems to be more on the ball and when you go through the drive-through you get good customer service and the food is of adequate size and portions. The service at the drive-through at night is a whole different experience. You're rushed through before you have a chance to check your purchased items... as was the case last night as well. I went to pick up dinner for my family and to say they disappointed me was an understatement. The girl taking my order was great... she repeated it all back to me and all seemed fine. When I got to the window I was dealing with someone else that handed me my drinks without a carrying tray although I ordered for 4 people. When she handed me my food bag, I went to check to see if everything was there and immediately she rudely told me to pull ahead even though only 1 car was behind me. When I asked her nicely if all my sauces were there (because all I saw was cocktail sauce for the shrimp and no bag with the other sauces) she said," Yes" abruptly (with a rude attitude) and then said again, "Just move your car up there if you want to check. (pointing to the parking area) So I repeated, "Did you put the sauces in the bag? Then she got more annoyed and said, "They're in there, I put them in myself"... so I took her at her word and pulled away. This exchange took less than a minute just to clarify that I wasn't trying to be rude or argumentative about anything. I just didn't want to have to drive back or go back through the drive-thru just for sauces. I drove home believing she was being truthful with me and took my order inside. After checking the bags there were no other sauces in any of the bags. At this point, I got upset after the way she spoke to me and also lied on top of it... I got back into my car and drove back and had to sit through the drive-thru again just to get 6 packs of sauces so we could eat our dinner and enjoy the food. When I drove to the window, the same rude woman abruptly handed me the bag, and even when I thanked her she gave me a nasty look and said nothing back. When I got back home, I realized that 2 of the containers had been pushed in and the sauces were leaking into the bag and onto the other sauces. But what was even more insulting was the state of the food I had just paid nearly $40 for. The shrimp was soggy, the chicken strips looked like what's left over after the good pieces are handed out, and what's left are just smaller chunks...so the 3 pieces were old, dried out and tiny. The mashed potatoes had just a hint of gravy and the red beans and rice had just a tiny amount of red beans and it was pretty much just rice. The green beans were old and soggy as well and the biscuits hard as if they'd been sitting for hours. If you're going to eat at this location, do it during the day. The manager at night is rude and impatient with the drive-through customers. She doesn't care about the quality of food she serves either. I think she's also may be racist against white people too. It's the impression she gave me, anyway.
Update- I made the mistake of trying again. My Chicken Strips were so old my momma's underwear was less crusty. They shorted me a pie and didn't give me the dipping sauce I asked for. The gravy on my mashed potatoes was sour meaning it was old and being reused from days before. If I get sick I'm gonna have to act on how crappy this Popeye's food is... it's unfit for human consumption.
Update- It's been over a year since I ate at Popeye's but for some reason my daughter wanted to try their new Ghost Pepper Sandwich... my daughter now has...
Read moreI have purchased gallon size SWEET iced tea on two occasions. Both times they assured it was sweet. Only to come home and find they weren’t sweetened. I told the employee on 2 occasion what happened. They assured me I was getting sweet. Of course it was marked sweet iced tea only to find out it was unsweetened again. So I went back and told them that it was unsweetened. The employees did not care, never apologized or anything. Picked up another while I was there. At $7.30 per gallon this was my third attempt. Only to find that this one was soured. So when I went back and asked if the iced tea was fresh and I would be receiving sweetened iced tea they said yes. Another girl working, who was not in the conversation told me it was impossible to receive out of date iced tea. They make it fresh every morning? I told her I was more than happy to bring the bag back to her. She shrugged her shoulders with an attitude and walked away. The young man working said they may have grabbed it from the back. He said some employees make it too watery and don’t add the correct amount of sugar. Amen, I got an honest answer. It isn’t like they gave me a replacement as I paid for everyone that I ordered. I think they need to train the customer service team to have better attitudes and to work with the customers not against. They need to have the employees know how to make the iced tea with the correct amount of sugar. I normally purchase 2-3 gallons per week. I asked if the Manager was available so I could talk to them. Unfortunately, they were in the back and couldn’t talk. I wanted to bring this issue to their attention along with the nasty girls attitude. If I walked in with an attitude I could have understood her attitude even though she wasn’t in the conversation and didn’t hear my entire conversation. I was intentionally keeping my conversation quiet as not to let other consumers...
Read moreJust for fun, my mom and I have been on a mission to compare spicy chicken sandwiches from different fast food places and other venues. It was Popeyes turn to impress us. Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich wasn't terrible, we've had worse for sure, however, it wasn't all that and a bag of chips either. But let me start from the beginning: The drive through staff at this particular Popeyes was friendly and very patient as we ciphered through the menu to figure out if we wanted fries or mashed potatoes. We ended up ordering both in addition to an 8pc fried chicken meal. Service was quick despite the long line. Hungry and looking forward to some yummy eats we headed home with our car smelling like spicy cajun heaven. Well bummer...we got the fries but no mashed potatoes and the chicken sandwich was smaller than we expected. It had pickles and some sort of spicy mayo sauce (which I will say was quite good and spicy), but the chicken patty itself was dry and stringy. I do believe it was actually chicken but It wasn't very good chicken. We were disappointed with our sandwiches. However, the 8pc chicken meal was delicious! Nice and crispy on the outside and juicy tender on the inside. We would get that again. Last thing I want to mention is that their tea is super lemony, a matter of taste I suppose, but for me just a little harsh on that first big gulp through a straw. So overall, I rate this Popeyes a 3. Wish us luck as we continue our search for the perfect spicy...
