The service here is variable. Some visits will be well served. Other times will be poor or worse. The food quality can be badly let down by the service. The specials board always has excellent dishes. See the photos of the daily specials in Nov 2024 & Mar 2025. Our favorite black & blue pork chop has a wonderful blue cheese sauce over a slightly blackened healthy sized pork chop. The generous fettucine is served with a rose sauce that is very tasty. See the photo. Always consider a starter. The Caesar Favorite (Mama's special) salad is our favorite in the county. All kinds of antipasto-like items are added including roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, chunks of fresh mozzarella. We split it onto 2 plates for two. See the photo. The lasagna had so much of the wonderful delicate tomato sauce, it was covered. This is the real authentic lasagna of Italy. For a tasty pasta with a kick, the Salmone Al Pesto has a marvelous creamy pesto sauce, & a heaping of small fresh button mushrooms. They say it's only 6 oz. of salmon but the whole plate was covered in large segments of it--it's large enough to take home for a second dinner. I recently tried the puttanesca. A low-priced main course. This is the freshest puttanesca I've found. Only the freshest tomatoes are used. The pieces are chunky. A few delicate pieces of anchovy give a rich flavor with all the black olives & many capers. This is a really tasty & filling meal. The spaghetti/Angel hair is tender & seems to be home made. Everything's so fresh. It's a winner. Mama makes her own Tiramisu. The delicate sponge soaked with flavor is something not to be missed. Get it when you can. Alternatively, the Lemon Drop cake (see photos) is light lemony & refreshing. The hefty layers of cream between the sponge layers remind you of a light English trifle. Two great desserts. The service is attentive, friendly, knowledgeable & extremely helpful. This is a wonderful place for authentic Italian meals. While considering the menu, try the complimentary bread made in the pizza oven. It's flavorful &...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I had with my friends and I looking for a nice Italian meal. First the place has a foul odor coming from the right front of the restaurant near the TV, almost like they have an open sewer line fragrance admitting to the dining room. The pasta was being cut out of bags and dumped while a large man was smiling and telling to have a seat. The phone was ringing a lot and we got next to a lot of senior citizens. And by a lot I mean a majority of everyone in here was 60+ and it wasn't too busy but busy. Our young server was nice, he was clearly just working a 1st or sidejob but was trying.
Food was sugar filled, if there was more sugar in that sauce they would be selling pomodoro caramella. The pizza was ok, not like new york at all. The calamari was not good, horrible value and the presentation was very soup-kitchen like. Regrettable, I would go to south for better examples of much more authentically accurate options rather than Americanized under cooked and overpriced products comes out of this 'faux'-Italian kitchen.
Also, side note, the large bellied bald guy was so loud on the phone. Stick to kneading dough, you distracted us numerous times because you clearly were overly stressed multitasking and the kitchen and us are feet away. Also we understand every word you said about us, and the other couple you were...
Read moreWell today decided to stop at this little Italian restaurant I kept seeing as I drive by in my new community I just moved into.Sapore Di Mare has a quiet atmosphere as you walk in . The decor is of the ocean and a scene from Italy . I was greeted by a very nice lady and she asked me if I’d like to have a seat. Sat near the window to get a better look at the operations, was able to see the cooks and owner from where I sat. The lady who greeted me was also the waitress. She asked if I wanted bread to start and a drink. Ordered a basket of bread and an unsweetened tea. The tea was good . The bread however was cold and over cooked on the bottom ( main reason for the 4 out of 5 rating). I then ordered chicken parmigiana and one slice of pepperoni pizza . The pizza came out first and wasn’t bad had a sweet sauce and wasn’t overly compensated on the dough. The chicken parmigiana came minutes later and was actually pretty good . Spaghetti that came with main course was cooked properly and had a similar sauce the pizza which made the meal blend well together. Over all not a bad experience. The bathroom is also clean...
