Hello, I was traveling on the road and stopped by one of your location store #00547 address 1657 Elkton rd, Elkton, MD, 21921 on August 30, 2021 at 1:52 AM and my transaction #2840932 for 1 coffee 24 oz. Upon entering your location, there was a hand written sign on the door saying "cash only". I made my coffe and proceeded to the register to pay and there was a white lady Associate behind the counter and very busy with counting the register. I wasn't sure if she is open so I asked and she nodded. I had my phone in my hand as to pay with the wawa app but before she sees my form of payment she said this is cash only no cards and I don't think your card will go through. U stated that I have wawa app and there is only one way to know if it would go through is by trying. The app payment went through and she start saying loudly" you are the magic man and look how you made it work but there is not enough money". I was short $0.95 so I handed the Associate $5. The Associate said my change is 4.05 then proceeded to count and fold the change to hand it back to me and I left. When I got to the car, I found out that the Associate shorted me a dollar giving me $3 back. I left without taking any action for few reasons. I used to work for resturants, bars, QSR and retail for nearly 12 years and I can tell there is cash theft or shorting customers a lot in this location. I am surprised as there was a sign for cash only and my wawa app payment still...

I like Wawa. Their food is great and their selection of drinks is also great. Service is where they fall down. The workers aren't always motivated to keep this store clean. Some of their practices need improvement.

Case in point. The cashier was standing at the register over a counter that had a spill on it. They were not busy, she had the time to clean it up. I put napkin down so that she would not plop my receipt down in the spill like she did with the customer before me. She had to have seen it. I think this is just Laziness, or apathy.

I have gone into various stores and asked them to wipe the counters around the coffee and tea setup and clean the touch screens.

It is great great that they use gloves to prepare customer's food. But when they bag the food the mess from the prep is all over their hands and transfers to the bag. You get a bag with all kinds of gook on it. It doesn't look good at all. I have to ask them for another bag. They seem confused by this request.
