I have never been more disappointed in an eating establishment. We were seated right away. Our server, Samantha, came and took our drink order and said she would be back with some bread. She arrived with our drinks but no bread. She proceeded to take our orders. I specifically told her I wanted my filet mignon butterflied because I ordered it well done. The rest of my family ordered as well and Samantha mentioned again she would bring out bread for the table. She came back to refill the drinks but still no bread. I watched her bring bread to all of her other tables but for some reason she just couldn't make it to our table with any. After about 20 minutes, she finally remembers to bring the bread. Once our meals were brought to our tables, I immediately noticed that my steak was not butterflied. I cut into it and it was bloody. It was nowhere near cooked to my specifications. I sent my meal back to be cooked, Samantha returned with my plate with my sides and no steaks saying the "chef" was refiring my steak. Why on earth would you bring out sides but no steak?!? I'm not there to eat just sides. She eventually returned with my steak but now my sides were ice cold. I told her this and at this point her attitude completely changed. She got snippy and said that she would "go ahead and get new sides if she had to". Now my steak is getting cold while I waited 15 minutes for her to bring back mashed potatoes and broccoli. By this time my entire family had completed their meals. My father and husband were both disappointed with their ribeye steaks. They said they were fatty, grisly and had little flavor. On top of a steak house not having a "chef" know how to cook a steak, they actually have the nerve to serve salads that contain romaine lettuce. Don't they know there is an outbreak of e coli that is coming from romaine lettuce!! I was shocked that they do not have the decency to stop serving salads that could make their guests...
Read moreWe had the worst experience and won't be back. All of our steak was rotten, this included another couple who sat across from us, the manager wouldn't even speak to us at first and refused to take the steak off the bill. We experienced a lot of disrespect from our waiter and finally gotten the manager to speak with us and came to an agreement, but it took more than it should have to speak with the manager.
Edit: let's Clarify that NOONE dined and dashed, the Manager told us, "alright have a good night." We left $45 out of a $67 dollar bill. We paid for everything EXCEPT the ROTTEN steak. Don't worry we will NOT return.
Noone quickly exited the building, the waiter never came back to speak to us. My husband stated, "you can go outside and I'll stay in here and handle this, as we have small children." Let me add again that I paid MAJORITY of my bill so no it certainly was not a dine and dash. I paid $45 out of my $67 bill, and as for no tip, I should NEVER have to ask for a refill. I had to get another waiter to get our waiter so we could get a refill. He NEVER once came back to check on us and ask how our food was. And you are the ONLY BAD REVIEW I have ever left.
Maybe you should own up that the steak was rotten as there was another table who also experienced this as well. I personally spoke with the table myself. There are other reviews for this same thing happening to them!
Again, it's not a dine and dash when you told my husband, "okay, have a goodnight."
Also, there were 6 meals ordered. 3 being steak, 1 being country fried steak (which was frozen) but was all ate, 1 being smothered chicken which was also all ate, and another being chicken tenders that you couldn't even cut with the steak knive because they were so over done (my kids couldn't even eat them) but were paid for. The meals that were all ate,...
Read moreWent on a weekend. Wait time to be seated was acceptable, probably about 20-30 mins. There was a party or something going on (according to the waitress) but that's still no reason for the poor service we received. I'm not saying it's the waitress' fault; it's the fault of the management. I counted about 15 tables in the restaurant but only two waitresses. I think most restaurants assign 3-4 tables at the most to a single wait server. Our drinks were refilled once by the time we were done with our entrees and the drinks were empty before our salads came. It took quite a while for the table to be cleared after the meal. And the food took an inordinate amount of time to come out, probably about 30 mins or more. The wait staff was not purposefully negligent; they just had too many tables to handle. Our waitress was constantly running from table to table but the customers shouldn't have to suffer because of poor management.
The food was acceptable but nothing special. I got the prime rib which was a little overcooked (I ordered medium rare and it came out medium), yet was cold. Not ice cold but definitely sat for a few minutes. I would've normally sent it back but I wasn't about to wait another 30 mins. My girlfriend got the glazed pork which she said she enjoyed. The best part of the meal was probably the salad. Nothing special but had quality ingredients (boiled egg, good tomatoes, fresh cucumber, and no soggy, wilted lettuce)
Overall, a very bad experience and maybe we came on the wrong night (what with the large party) but, as a restaurant, you have to put your best forward every night and that definitely did not happen this night. We might try this place again if we're ever in Mascoutah looking for a place to eat but that's probably not gonna happen. We usually only come to Mascoutah for Roemer Topf or...
