Agua Viva Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Maunabo

Unfortunately, our experience at Aqua Viva Restaurant and Bar was disappointing. For a seafood restaurant located on the coast, we were surprised to find they were out of several key menu items—including shrimp, which was central to multiple dishes we had hoped to order. Both my wife and I initially wanted the red fish, but that wasn’t available either. I ultimately settled on the grouper, which was my third choice, and while it was fairly good, it wasn’t what I had come for.

My wife ended up not ordering a main dish at all due to the limited options, though to their credit, the staff did bring her a complimentary serving of rice and beans so she’d have something to eat. Our daughter ordered a crab dish, but unfortunately it didn’t taste fresh and had a noticeably off flavor.

That said, our server was excellent—very attentive and clearly doing his best to make up for the kitchen’s shortcomings. His service was the highlight of the evening, and we appreciated his effort.

Came here to eat with my family as we are on vacation my son’s dish came out first he was done with his dish 30 minutes later my husband approached the waitress. With a very rude tone she tells my husband the food you ordered is frozen they are waiting for it to defrost my mind was blown. If this was the case I should have been informed and allow me as a consumer to make the choice of placing the order or not mind you the restaurant had less than five patrons at tables. The waitress rudeness was so wrong it is disappointing I’m Puerto Rican I come to vacation here I try my best to leave my money with local business and not eat in corporate America restaurants but businesses like this make you run to dennys or Applebees...

I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for my food!! By the time it came my family was not even hungry!! We were just about to get up and walk out and the food came. No apologies from staff. Waitress acted like it was normal. No one spoke English unable to communicate with anyone.

Seems reasonable someone in the place would speak english.

No way you end up paying for that meal in the United States. I work too hard for my money to be treated like this. Can’t wait to see the response to this and the effort to make it right. I expect no effort.
