TLDR: Fantastic first impression, food comes in large portions and majority of it is modestly spicy. Will definitely be back for more!
My husband and I attended the Pinchers family & friends pre-opening night. Walking in, you’re greeted by this amazing front desk staff and wonderfully decorated interior. The seating area is very well spread out and there are tons of seating options.
We ordered their spiked lemonade and an old fashioned for our drinks. They were both delicious and well made.
For our appetizer, we had their fried pickles. Let me tell you this: the portion size and flavor of these fried pickles are perfect. They are also on the spicy side. I do wish more ranch was provided, but the taste made up for not needing much ranch anyway.
For our entree, we both had a Cajun chicken pasta with garlic bread and mashed potatoes. The dish itself had the perfect ratio of chicken to pasta that I had enough to finish the entire plate in harmony. The garlic bread and mashed potatoes were well done and seasoned as well.
Overall, great first impression of the place! I’m proud to have been invited for the pre-opening night. I’m excited to go back again to have another great dinner!
Also hats off to Miranda for being a great manager! She was attentive to all tables and would help out the staff...
Read moreWe had a delightful experience here. We saw Pinchers when we were passing through Maurice. The reviews online convinced us to try it. We arrived around 5:45 pm on a Friday. There was plenty of parking, and we got a table for 3 immediately. The hostess was very nice, and our server Lanie (sp?) was incredible- so friendly and professional. Ask for her! The space itself is very appealing with large colorful art, a word mural, and giant chalkboards. I peeked at the bar area, and it is beautiful. Our food was delicious! We especially loved the crawfish wontons! The flavor in the "stuffing," the crunch of the wonton, and the sweetness of the Steen's syrup was some kind of magic. Our entrees came with a garden salad, and I am always so appreciative when salad is served on a cold plate, and it is here. All of our entrees were terrific, as well. I asked Lainie which was her favorite dessert, and she said the bread pudding, so we got that. Absolutely delicious! The creme anglais sauce was perfection. I'd choose to drive to Pinchers from Lafayette any day of the week! Truly a lovely experience...
Read moreWe ordered the crawfish wontons and boiled crawfish, which were very good. I would rank their boiled crawfish size, preparation, etc. with most of the top boilers in Lafayette. We opted to add "spicy garlic" seasoning to our boiled crawfish. For those that are wondering, they boil all the crawfish like any other cajun boiler, and then add additional seasoning of your choice afterwards, if you opt for that. We added "spicy garlic" and it was a nice subtle addition. Sometimes when places just sprinkle additional dry seasonings on crawfish after they are boiled, some crawfish can have way too much salt and spice while others may not have enough. I know the place is newly opened, but the service and cleanliness was exceptional. We were offered gloves, bibs, wet naps, extra napkins, and constant check ups by the server and manager. When you visit some busy crawfish boilers, it feels like you're in the meat grinder. I don't generally write long reviews but it seems like they are trying hard to provide a quality dining experience and I want to see places like that survive...
