I would do 3.5 stars if that was an option. The new facility is beautiful and spacious but lacks the homey feel of the original. I was shocked by the order process, which felt remarkably like a fast food experience. The cashier was extremely patient (this was my first trip since the new location) and I was trying to make the most of my visit by getting more than a BBQ sandwich. After taking 6-7 minutes, we stepped up to counter and were quickly told that most of our choices were not available, even told "we no longer have green beans on the menu" (suggestion-take it off your board). Finally made our selections, I was told the lemonade was homemade (I didn't see a single lemon in the dispensing canister, and I'm assuming it was homemade by Country Time Lemonade Mix). Interior is beautiful and I loved some of the decor. Again, seating was spacious and well laid out. Too cold to try the outdoor patio but it looked inviting. After fixing our own drinks we found a table. Our food was delivered within minutes (cudos for speedy service). Everything we ordered (including my special request for ranch sauce). Presentation was nice, portions were fabulous. My potato salad was cold, but my house chips and meat were lukewarm. I liked the variety of options for sauce (4), but only one tickled my tastebuds. The taste of everything was delicious. I enjoyed my sample platter of brisket, sausage and pork. I would have like to have some bread. Topped it all off with a lovely lemon icebox pie. Husband had ribs, fries, and Texas beans. He enjoyed (same lukewarm issue). I did not care for the seasoning on the ribs or the beans. Meal for 2 was $40+. Seemed a tad on the high side for our area. I was not a fan of the cups for our drinks. The cute camo was just that- cute. But a sturdier glass would be much preferred. I was a fan of the new metal platter for serving. I will try again at a different time of day (and earlier in the week as this seemed to be the reason for being out of several of the side options). I will definitely purchase...
Read morewent in around 5pm to get some take out… there was only one table in there… i should have taken that as a sign. i got pork, it was so greasy and didn’t taste very good, i got brisket… no taste at all! it just tasted like fatty meat… bland disappointment. When i was ordering i told the girl i had never been there.. she said “ok” and preceded to go back to talking to the other employees because i guess i interrupted their conversation when i came in to get food. I asked them about the potato salad… asked since it said loaded does that mean it’s sour cream based with bacon and cheese? and she didn’t know and asked another girl who also did not know, so i didn’t get that. placed my order and she told me they would call my name when it was ready. i also asked her if she would put the sweet bbq sauce in there and she said “yeah”… good thing i looked around for a minute because i saw the self serve sauce station and grabbed some sauce. when i got my food there was no sauce in there so im glad i got my own because she sure didn’t tell me i could get my own! one of the ketchup dispensers was almost empty and had old dried ketchup on the spout and sauce splatters all over the counter, looked disgusting. i paid $21 and only ate the potato wedges. i threw away the meat because it was so gross. nice waste of money and time and now im still hungry!!! won’t be back for anything. i’d rather eat a pork sandwich from wings etc and they get their pork...
Read moreI am not a local but I stop here frequently when I travel because I love the barbeque. However the last 2-3 visits have been disappointing. The quality of the food has declined for sure. I will continue to eat here but hoping things get better. Update: I added another star because our last visit was excellent! Looking forward to our next visit. Update: back to 3 stars and probably my last review. I stopped by at 5pm on a Saturday for a to go order. The minimal customers was a worrisome sign. Young and idc attitude staff as usual. I ordered wings as one of the meats and received one wing. The sausage was burnt, the pulled pork was ok and the Mac & cheese was overcooked. One of my favorite parts of the two meat plate is the corn bread and I was excited as a saw someone cutting what looked to be fresh cornbread from the oven... Alas, I will never know because once again they forgot my cornbread. Not sure we will be coming back since only 1/5 of our last visits have been worth it. I always come through during Saturday dinner so maybe that's the worst time...
