Star Pizza — Restaurant in Mayodan

I called to see if they were open around 930 pm because Beach house across the street closed an hour early for some unknown reason. Anyways, the very young blonde waitress replied with “I answered the phone didnt I?” Floored, I walked in to order hoping to deal with someone more mature. ( I have to say Star pizza has great cheese steaks HOWEVER, they done away with their home made ranch which was 80 percent of the reason why I loved star pizza. We ordered about 40 dollars worth of food to go tonight, so my wife and I sat at the bar and waited.) The night time manager, which I’m sure is one of the owners makes the waitress empty her pockets and counts the waitresses tips right in front of us then proceeds to count all the money in the register. He walks over to the pizza making station which is also right I front of us, pulls the mozerella bin out of the fridge, sits it on the counter AND STICKS HIS UN-WASHED HANDS INTO THE BIN OF MOZERLLA CHEESE AND PROCEEDS TO BREAK IT UP WITH HIS HANDS!!!!! UNWASHED!!! My mouth hit the counter, I’m glad nothing I ordered required shredded...

Apparently the air conditioner was broken because it was very hot . The waitress was slow and unfriendly. The bathroom was filthy. The order was wrong and had to be corrected and the waitress said, "Not my fault." And on top of all that the food was not very good. When we paid, the cashier told us that she had just been cussed out by a customer over the phone. I can see why. We will not return.

When highway 220 is finished and with 73 extention open between 220 and 68, it will be much easier to get to and from Madison Mayodan from Greensboro. This means businesses and people will be moving into the area. It also means more restaurats will be opening there. This will be more competition for Star Pizza. We were there on a Saturday night at 6:00 and there were 5 boths empty. They had better clean up their act or they'll be going out...

I had to give 1 star just to be able to put up review. If they had negative stars I would rate it at -5! Worst calling in experience ever by far. Said they can't deliver if ur more than 3miles away I'm 2.4 miles away and wouldn't take my order to deliver. That's bad business Sam ur employees need to be alot nicer you just lost out on over $60 for a 7 min drive. This restaurant call was rude and unexceptable and you'll never get my service ever again. Ppl reviewing this make sure when u call for delivery to be sitting outside by curb just to get severed. Hope yall get it together for ur future customers . 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 worst...
