Absolute worst pizza ever!! This was a carry out order. I arrived before the pizzas were finished, and paid $34.22 for one 14" cheese pizza & one 14" beef pizza. After waiting a couple minutes, I was handed the pizzas which were served on round pieces of cardboard and shrink wrapped with plastic. Yep, fully cooked pizzas wrapped tightly with plastic and then stacked. Okay well too late, I've paid and we're staying at a hotel, so options are limited. A two block drive caused a fair amount of condensation between the pizza and the plastic which was tedious to remove. I suppose that steam prevented the cling wrap from permanently attaching to the cheese, however it would soon be discovered that noting could stick to this cheese product anyway. This pizza has an oddly undercooked crust that tastes like wet cardboard. It is thin yet dense as if it is totally lacking a leavening agent, or no time is allowed for any air to form. It isn't crunchy; it isn't chewy; it is the epitome of bland yucky glue formed from just flour and water. Topped with cheap cheese that doesn't melt well, has no stretch, and definitely smells unlike any mozzarella should (as if it could be made from rancid llama milk), but that's okay because it was a meager amount of cheese anyway. The only positive thing I can say is that the sauce wasn't as nauseating as the rest of this waste that isn't fit for feeding landfill rats. If I could give this negative stars, I would. Don't eat this pizza for money, don't eat it for a bet, don't eat it because you're starving. Anyone who rates this pizza highly is either a paid shill, an owner, an employee, or needs...
Read moreReally odd experience. I literally have never experienced something like that. No music was playing, super quiet and weird. My family and I walked in and everyone stared at us. (Small ND community) Older gal told us loudly that she cannot push tables together, then ten minutes later pushed some together. She told us right away she is super busy and “hope you don’t have to be anywhere”. Which was understandable but as time went on things slowed. Took a hour to get our food. Was making really odd comments and told my 2 year old nephew to “calm down” then proceeded to tell us she hated Taylor swift and our music choices and was in childcare for 20 years? Pizza tasted like frozen pizza. Felt like cardboard and tasted stale. If I had the money I’d open a place across the street and beat them at their own game. Will...
Read moreOn my first ever visit to Mayville, ND and Pizza Shop was a great place to stop. Mayville is a very scenic rural town with a university. We stopped at Pizza Shop ,a very old school restaurant from outside and inside looks. There is a large menu to order from. We had cheese squares basically cheesy bread and so perfectly cooked and fresh dough lots of cheese. We also ordered a medium Kraut pizza they had many specialty pizzas to choose from including a za with PBJ. Also we shared a strawberry shake so delicious bits of strawberries in it , so very homemade tasting. Lots of ppl in this place and the service was quick and very personable. I have zero complaints, maybe could use a bit of updates on decor. A fun place to stop and...
