Desperado's — Restaurant in McArthur Township

While going in to meet friends recently I was asked to step out front by Jon Wackerman to "talk"? He immediately says " I've tolerated you coming in here the past 4 years but you put in a bad review" on one of his wait staff, because she was rude & wouldn't serve my guest. I told him I didn't leave no review! He insisted i did until my guest spoke up & said "I wrote that review because the staff person was rude & wouldn't serve her!" He then brought up about a check ($100) he had written me 6 yrs ago, (which was written wrong, to Ride for a cure & was supposed to be written to "Blackburn Chasing The Cure"!? I told him it wasn't written correctly & he insisted it would be good? 🙄 So after 2 more attempts to correct this incorrect check, I had to turn it over to the Sherrifs office. They went to his house & got a correctly written check! Now after he found out it was my gf that wrote the review on his staff person, he then asked us to leave! So I take that as being barred from there? Ok, np! But then I was told I owed him an apology? 🤔 Ok, her ya go... Jon Wackerman, I apologize that you do not have common sense enough to write a check to a Cancer charity correctly & we're given 3 chances to correct it, but didn't until i had to get the authorities involved (of which you used to be an employee of) in order to correct it! Then you have the audacity to contact my Fire/EMS Dept of which I volunteer for & try to take revenge on them by saying you're not going to help them anymore because you hold a grudge against me!? I recommend you can move beyond this & let it be a lesson in training your staff & running a better...

I can't give negative stars, so one will have to do.

Went to Desperados Bar & Grill today for what was supposed to be a nice, finally warm day, lunch.

After waiting over 10 minutes to place our drink order, it was another 10 before they were delivered.

Another 10 or 15 before she came to take our order. We were thinking, at this point, this was probably not going to end well.

After being told we could not order our burgers well done ("WE DON'T TAKE SPECIAL ORDERS WE DON'T DO THAT HERE, THEY ARE ALL WELL DONE!!!"), our hamburgers were delivered 30 minutes later, raw.

Traig has a medium steak delivered, raw. It was PURPLE. Ewwww

The server seemed SO put out when he returned it and asked for it to be cooked.

So they put his steak back on the grill. Next to other steaks. The same steak he just took bites from. Is that a health violation? I dunno but it's WRONG.

Our server clearly had her dog die that morning because she was literally the most miserable human being on earth today. Literally. Miserable.

She may have spit in our food, she hated serving us that badly.

Then she switched credit cards and gave us someone else's card and bill. That was a charging/voiding/recharging debacle to put the cherry on top of our day.

We was excited to try a new place for us.. Just me a a girl friend went in found open seats at the end of the bar.. They did have a good crowd. The waitress was waiting on someone that walked in right in front of us. However when she got finished with giving them a drink she talked an talked, Never looked our way ! After a few minute a gentleman beside us. why don't you wave at her. so I did. waving my hand over my head... About that time I see another barmaid is also behind the bar.. She picks up her phone are NO ONE ever looked our way. After approx. 10-12 min. We walked out, NO SERVICE... SO at this point I Yelled as loud as I could BYE.. then she looked over ,as we went out the door. I should of yelled that this would be a Nice place to open a bar... So disappointed .......... July 2022 Let me reply to your reply.. you said if I had waved at one of ur busy workers.. WELL if you read my review that is what I did, with no response. Check your employees an Maybe take their phones away from them. Don't imply that I did request service.. I believe walking in the door Is a Request...
