Normally I write these under excited circumstances, especially when getting dessert foods. But today I'm a bit sad despite biking the park during beautiful weather. It the first visit here since it stopped being a Hawaiian ice stand and reopened as a Millie's. After a few visits to my nearby favorite Kool Cones over this summer I decided to give it a try instead. Everything is largely the same, at least on the exterior. Gone is the sign displaying the many Hawaiian ice flavors and combinations, and in its place a pink Millie's sign and a menu on either window. Instead of cash, they now conveniently have a card and smartphone reader for easier payment. Even a program to gain rewards points. The menu is small, only 10 flavors, but with a number being dairy free or gluten free options. Backyard S'mores was my first choice, but I was told it was too hard to scoop. Thankfully I was also curious about the Cold Brew Shake, but was then told that they were out of cold brew as it was a popular choice. Gawking at the board to find something, the worker said he could get me a sundae with no extra charge since he already took my money for the s'mores scoop. It was cookie dough with chocolate, caramel, sprinkles, and a waffle piece. The paper cup and recycled spoon were nice touches. No styrofoam or single use plastic like many other places. I've been to many ice cream places (it's not an addiction, it's for research!) and $5 is a lot for a small, single scoop, even when dressed up nicely. Especially with so many competitors and coming out of inflation post-covid. But perhaps I'll return and try something else on the menu.

Millie’s is a local Pittsburgh ice cream chain. This location is a small stand next to the Boathouse/OTB. There is also a newly paved walking/ biking trail next to the ice cream stand which is nice. The ice cream itself is delicious. We got a couple ice creams and a nitro cold brew. I thought the staff was nice and after you order, there are picnic tables to eat at.

What a wonderful space for ice cream. It's right next to the OTB restaurant in the heart of North Park and a great place to have fun and enjoy a nice sunny day with ice cream.

Millie’s is a local ice-cream chain. This particular location is in North Park. During my and my husband’s visit, an employee immediately greeted and served us. The menu listed many available flavors of ice creams, some of which were gluten-free and vegan. We chose four flavors, and they all tasted delicious. Some picnic tables were nearby. I do not believe that they...
