Unfortunately my visit was very, very poor. I enjoy going out for a Friday lunch date with my wife and daughter. This Friday we decided to try Kim and Patty's as it was highly rated on Google and has been around for quite a long time.

We ordered the Crispy Chicken Volcano (which was told to be VERY SPICY, it is not) wrap which essentially was a chicken tender wrap with Asian Zing sauce from buffalo wild wings, the chicken salad sandwich and the kids chicken tenders with fries.

With the wrap I had ordered the house made chips, which were not edible. I was not able to even bite through the chips, it was almost as if they were cooked the day before and served to me cold. Not only were they not crunchy they had absolutely no salt. The coleslaw that was provided with the meal had absolutely no flavor.

My wife had the chicken salad sandwich, which also was flavorless. She had to actually add seasonings from the table to enjoy the sandwich.

I really really tried to like the food and overall it was a very disappointing experience.

Not only was the food bad, we had a very long wait 45 min+ after ordering our food because of "around 30 or 40 orders from doordash and uber eats" that become priority over sitting guests, as our waitress mentioned. She was so busy she couldn't checkout the table of older (80+ year olds) asking to leave.

I am very disappointed in my time at Kim and Patties. As much as I really wanted to support my local business, I highly suggest going...

I have eaten here several times and had the gluten free waffle. It's been hit or miss previously as far as the quality of the waffle. Today was too much for me and I won't be back nor will my family. I ordered the waffle as it's the only GF option and the first one I got was burned to the point it crumpled when I touched my fork to it. I asked for a replacement that wasnt burned and the waitress seemed upset that I wanted a new one. She brought the second and it was less burnt and told me they're usually darker because they're GF....not true. Uve been there before and had one that was perfectly cooked. The second one tasted funny and I only had 2 bites. She never checked back except to quickly drop the check off. When I checked out they asked how everything was and I told them and the only thing they had to say was that they've never received a complaint before. I wasnt expecting much but thought they might apologize for such poor quality and service but no such luck. Apparently they don't need customers. Very sad to give this place up because there are not a lot of gluten-free options out there, but you can't imply it's my fault the food was subpar. So I paid for a waffle that I didn't even eat, but it was a...

Kim and Patty's is our favorite place for a lot of reasons. First and foremost, the food!!! Always tasty, revolving specials weekly(these are always very creative considering they change all the specials quite regularly and always coming up with new ideas!) Tied for first is the service. We have been treated like family from the first time we ate there a couple years ago and that hasn't changed. If anything we have become more endeared, as we usually go there at least once a week and always with a warm welcome. Weekends can be very busy, so be prepared to wait, and it's worth it! Lastly, in an unprecedented 3 way tie for first, is the veteran memorial theme and the unwavering support for the armed forces, as well as, first responders. The walls are awash with history and the faces of so many that paid the ultimate price. My buddy is a veteran and very much appreciates the "memorial",if you will. It is not somber though. It is always a lively atmosphere with plenty of laughter, and for breakfast or lunch is my personal favorite out of many options. The consistency of all the above attractions is always💯. Enjoy alla sincere thank you too the whole team at Kim and Patty's for an always fantastic dining...

I've heard so many great reviews about this place, and I wasn't disappointed once I was able to stop in! The service was fantastic and quick, amazing server who was friendly, amazing atmosphere with beautiful frames of all the veterans who served. I ordered the tuna salad without the bread and tomatoes ( they didn't have gluten free bread so I chose without), they came with a side of fries, coleslaw, and spear pickle. The tuna was very high quality made, better than many others places I've had it at. The fries were amazing, I think they are hand cut fresh there, because they tasted and looked that way to me. The cole slaw was fantastic. I'm not a huge eater so I had leftovers to take with. My partner had the sloppy joe grilled cheese, he loved it so much and he can't wait to come back again. He also loved the veterans theme inside the place as well. Highly recommend!

So, I am not from this area, so it may be a bit out of the way, or not. Anyways, the food and atmosphere were not was I was expecting, but I very pleased with both. They honor any and all military and first responders, and the entire restaurant is covered with pictures and memorabilia to match. I ordered the Garbage Omelette with hash browns and the pancakes. The omelette was delicious, the hash browns were made the way I like them (extra crispy) and the pancakes were delicious. It wan not very busy on a Tuesday morning, but my servers were very pleasant to talk with and quick to take my order. The kitchen was also very quick to get my order out. If you’re even remotely close, you need to stop in and give them try. If you or you have a family member in the military you will appreciate the decor. I will be back.

Much like most McHenry eateries, they often receive high scores from friends, family and long-time regulars. Sadly, this also ends up covering up a lot of low quality cooking. Kim & Patty's may honor our Vets on their walls, but their food doesn't honor our wallets. From dry sausages, "they're supposed to be like that!", to under-seasoned gravy. Our breakfast--delivered by doordash--was a HUGE (and expensive) disappointment. If the food is better in the restaurant, they need a serious discussion with staff about the importance of delivery order quality. Not sure we'll be spending our money here again.
