Dairy Freeze — Restaurant in McKenney

Ever since they went under new management a few months ago it has been nothing but nonsense with them. I religiously order the triple cheeseburger from them and when asked they end up charging my friend 9 dollars and he asked isn’t it 5 dollars and the man proceeds and says no it’s 9 now then says it’s the thick burger! And after going back and forth with them for a while he comes and brings me the burger and I open it and it’s just a regular triple burger instead of the triple thick burger like the guy said so he was charged 4 dollars more for a 5 dollar burger so I called and after him giving me 50 excuses I told him we are never going back and he then said that he can make me another burger or give me my money back so I agreed to the money back part and this guy said “okay come back I will give you a 10% off coupon!” Instead of my money a coupon😂 when you go there pay close attention to what they charge you.... it’s...

I have mixed feelings tbh but wont stop off highway for it again. The food wasn’t bad tasting but it wasn’t great either as it had no flavor that I would imagine a small shoppe like this would have after a lifetime of experiencing them. Its mostly because the patties were clearly a big box burger patty you can make from home. I was suprised how much you got for your buck tho!

Also they were busy when we got there with management or owner cooking everything with new gal on register with a FABULOUS ATTITUDE. In fact her attitude is the only reason we ignored the back up.

Anyways we wanted to show some extra support so when we went up to order the icecream I offered tip on my card and the owner refused it. Idk.

We simply stopped because of nostalgia..: the ratings make me wonder if it’s under new...

The food is overpriced for what is basically fast food. Most of the value comes from being the only "fast" restaurant in the area. It's not fast -- it took fifteen minutes for a cheeseburger and fries, and the fries were overwhelmingly bland. At least they gave me some salt packets so I could add my own flavor. My wife had a steak and cheese sandwich which was actually pretty good. The ingredients blended well, though it didn't include peppers or onions as you might expect. My kids had chicken tenders which were obviously frozen blobs deep fried. I doubt anything is fresh here at all, really.

The locals seem to like the place well enough -- it was busy, even at almost 2:00 pm -- but for the same money, or less, you can get better food just about anywhere else. There just isn't anywhere...
