Alright I want to lead with the ice cream was excellent. The atmosphere was fine with corn hole boards and nearby live music. The issue here is that it took 30 minutes for us to receive two milkshakes. The further issue is we came to find out it did not take them 30 minutes to make our shakes. We ordered, and they just...forgot to make our shakes. For about 20 minutes we sat waiting until one worker walked by and asked if we were waiting for something which we said we were. There was no line, no orders waiting, in fact we could see three of the employees sitting at the front talking and using their phones. They outright admitted they had forgotten. We weren't rude, or nasty, or unreasonable about this. Didn't ask for them to make it right somehow (which was not offered either). 10 minutes later when two more people had ordered and received their food, I asked if they were eventually going to make our shakes. The girl's response was that our order was hard to make and that's why it was taking so long (it was a mint chocolate chip shake with espresso mixed in. It's different, but it's not hard). She followed this up with "and we're all teenagers"...which seems like a weird justification for just...not doing their jobs. But I've seen plenty of restaurants, ice cream stands, tourist traps, coffee shops, and carnival rides run by teenagers, and all of them ran more smoothly than this. Great product. NIGHTMARISH execution.
As a reply to the owner: The shop was not busy. As stated before, multiple workers were engaged with their phones and conversations with each other. I acknowledge items are made to order, but your staff explicitly stated they forgot to make it. Not that it was taking longer than expected. Please take this as a training opportunity. I understand the desire to defend the actions of your staff, but...
Read more3 stars is a bit generous for how rude the girl taking the order was, but I’m trying to be nice. None of the employees seemed particularly cheerful, but the girl at the window was rude to us and several other people (she wasn’t at the window the whole time. She also handed orders out and was very rude to a couple who ordered cookie dough ice cream and received something yellow with blue bits. She insisted that was cookie dough and was not at all polite in how she handled that even though the customers weren’t being rude). The food was okay, but nothing spectacular. Same for the ice cream sundae. I was tempted to not even stay after we got our food and were treated poorly (and they lost our food order at first), but my husband was set on ice cream, so we stayed and shared a sundae. I’m trying to give some grace because they were incredibly busy. I’m not sure if they’re always that busy on Saturday evenings or if it was because of the local band playing tonight or because it’s Memorial Day weekend. But still, as a manager myself, I would not be at all happy to know my employees were speaking to customers the way we were spoken to regardless of how busy of a night it was. It’s a cute place that could be an amazing local spot, but customer service needs...
Read moreIf you want ice cream this might not be the place for you. BUT if you like standing in line for half an hour without even ordering yet and then give up and walk across the street to buy an ice cream sandwich from the small market, then by all means give this place a try. After hiking all around Twin Falls, our large family group wanted some iced coffee drinks. Since the coffee trolley was not open we decided to get ice cream. Some of us got in line to order and others sat down to rest after our long hike. After about 30 minutes all but 2 of our group gave up and walked across the street, as I've already said. That's 9 people that walked away. I watched at least a dozen other people give up and drive away. There seemed to be 3 young women working. But God bless 'em, there wasn't an ounce of hustle in any of the 3. We watched them take 4 or 5 orders, close the window and then slowly fill those orders. About every 15-20 minutes they'd open the window and take a few more orders. The ice cream they were serving up looked delicious, but we just didn't have the 2 hours it would take to get our order. So we followed the example of many others and left. No ice cream for us. But who knows - maybe you'll have better luck...
