Look no further than Hooked Seafood and Raw Bar for your next oceanic craving. Upon entry, Hooked has a bright and clean atmosphere that feels refreshing and vibrant. I was greeted at the door immediately, and there was no wait for seating although the restaurant appeared full. At the table, the menu I was given included several expected choices in a seafood restaurant. However, there were quite a few standouts that seemed to have their own originality. I find the “Raw Bar”ability to order shellfish by the pound convenient, as you can opt for a larger portion than the entree. I was served bread until my meal arrived, and the food was prepared within a reasonably quick pace (about 13 or so minutes). Once it arrived, my lobster roll was packed with meat. The fish tacos had a mango salsa with lime that was to die for. The steamed shrimp by the pound were piping hot, flavorful, and served with the classic cocktail sauce, lemon, and melted butter. There was also a massive selection of alcohol on display, as well as an extensive cocktail menu and draft list. They even had a few “lottery” bottles for the hardcore enthusiasts. Falcon Smash is always my go to, and it paired wonderfully with seafood. At the end of my experience, I had been greeted by the owner and the general manager before leaving. Their need to ensure that I had a pleasant visit was a true sign that a local owned Hanover business is here to stay. I found out about this restaurant through a Facebook group & knowing how much my boyfriend loves seafood, decided to surprise him with a nice meal here. This was our first visit, but it certainly won't be our last! What a lovely venue! It's decorated beautifully & we really appreciate that, but let's face it we were there for the food! And they didn't disappoint, not at all! Our server Mahoghani was wonderful, she checked on us frequently but didn't hover. My boyfriend ordered the crabcake dinner; it was 2 plump crabcakes served on a bed of corn relish that was a fantastic side, all by itself! With hush puppies & a side & with a lemon aoli drizzle on top of the crabcakes. He chose the roasted potatoes as his side: they had quite a few sides listed & we liked the variety available. And their sweet tea was really so good! I wasn't as hungry, so I chose the coconut shrimp appetizer as my main, with a side of mac n cheese. Let me tell you, we cleaned our plates! The coconut shrimp were served with a sweet chili sauce drizzled over & it was a great taste combo with the shrimp. They were large, very tasty, & fried to perfection. The mac n cheese was really good, I loved the cheese sauce! Next time we go, he wants to try the oysters, of which they have a variety listed on the menu. The restaurant is absolutely Beautiful. The colors, atmosphere, and design are stunning, and very relaxing. The waitress Mahogany was very nice and helpful telling us about the menu, and best dishes. She was friendly, professional, and made you feel very relaxed. The food was displayed very nicely. Great quality, but lacked a little in the seasoning . I had the Trio with Shrimp, Scallops, and Crab cake. Everything was good but could've been better, if it was seasoned better. The Oysters were delicious. The hush puppies were good but very tiny. The macaroni and cheese was good. The Salmon, Fish and Truffle fries were good. They had a beautiful patio to dine on. It was a nice place to dine. I will definitely go again.
