Chillin & Grillin Shack Restaurant & Catering — Restaurant in Virginia

Arrived to wait in line which we expected a little wait as the parking lot was full. Once seated after waiting about 10 minutes in stuffed "lobby" while host was running around cleaning tables and seating people while 3 to-go girls sat behind the counter sipping on their drinks(not helping). Finally got sat with 1 menu, and 2 silverware for 4 people. "Sorry we're out at the moment." Table was sticky once we sat down. We got our drinks and placed our order with the bartender, our server, within 10 minutes. We started to watch other people that came in after us get their food. Mind you our server had been by our table multiple times. We finally stopped our server and asked what was going on, he said he would go check. He placed the people's order behind us THEN went to check. It's been over 30 minutes since ordering. He finally comes back and said sorry, it's going to be a while. He could not give us a time frame. We are now at the 40 minute mark and now it's a computer problem and kept giving us excuse after excuse about the manager won't give him a time on when our food would be ready. I asked him if he could please go and get us some type of time frame. He went back to the kitchen, then went behind the bar never came back to tell us any update. This was my husband and I first visit here and it will probably be our last. Our food was great but the service was EXTREMLY POOR! The owner of this restuarant/manager (who ever runs this place) needs to get there act together & get off their high horse. Your restuarant will be unsuccessful if you don't have great customer service! When I complained to our waiter (who was probably 16) he acted like everything was perfect and ignored what I said. If you are a waiter or a waitress and you have a customer who is unsatisfied with something, YOU FIX IT! NO BODY SHOULD WAIT 30 MINUTES FOR A DAMN TO GO BOX & WATCH THEIR WAITER GO BACK BEHIND THE COUNTER (where the to go boxes were ) 5 times. You also need to let the customer know if there is a upcharge for a item on the menu. We were charged extra for a side that came with the meal.And God forbid you shouldn't tell who ever is in charge (infront of customers) that you don't have NO UTENSILS & they are all dirty. Hire a person to do the dishes. End of story. Get it together. This restuarant needs to treat everyone who walks in that door like they are a food critic instead of your average Joe blow.. Now in case the owner is reading this..maybe this will light a fire under your ass to help you and your business become successful bc like I stated above the food was GREAT AND HAS SO...

It would be nice to continue to eat here, friendly staff , good food, the last 3 times have been inexcusable , Friday night over a hour wait for burgers, next time server doesn't write anything down and everything is messed up with terrible delay in repairing said issues, last time tonight , begged server not to forget my salad prior to meal and instead forgot my entree completely , wife and daughter finished eating and still no meal , asked for check and the humor was the server asked if I wanted to pay for the meal I never received . Um no!!!! I have one more chance for this place in me , and that is so generous !!! Cooking my frozen pizza at home after going out to eat.

Tonight was my last chance for my favorite spot , and it was a home run , staff was on point and everything was timely , was so relieved to enjoy my visit . Great bounce back , thank you Brandy and crew !

Been back 3 times since the bumpy few visits and the adjustments they have made have been a welcomed change, this local spot is awesome , bring a little patience on a busy night and enjoy your company , thank you...
